Ralph Souquet is as classy as it gets. There s no doubt about that.
Thorsten Hohmann is a true gentleman as well. Hell!! I even watched Thorsten literally throw the towel in at the final table of a major tournament as a sign of respect for his opponent (I don't remember who off hand) running a beautiful rack and getting great shape on the 9.
And Thomas Engert always gets my vote for a true class-act. Great player and classy guy.

Seriously though, that crap on his hands are "finger extenders". Another Earl gimmick. I believe he and Parica got into an argument over the use of them in said picture.

An outstanding suggestion! I never heard any comments about Beenie that would make me think he was not a classy guy.Williebetmore said:While it is hard to dispute the choice of Irving Crane; I'm surprised that no one mentioned Bill Staton (Weenie Beenie) in the Honorable Mention category.
He was very well-dressed, well-spoken, friendly, and entertaining - a consummate gentleman on the few occasions we met.
I really like your suggestion of compiling the names into a poll for voting. And I think you just volunteered to do it!Island Drive said:Now that we have a great list of players, (I don't know how) but someone compile those listed and lets all vote. Weenie Beenie is also a great pick, stand up guy and his wife, WOW even in her 70's she still looks great and has a smile like Bill.

OK, I'll give it a try if no one objects and you give me a couple of days to do it. Here's my plan - I'll go back through the thread and count the votes for the classiest living and deceased pool player. I'll just have to use my best judgement about whether the votes were meant to be taken seriously. For example, I won't take any votes for Earl seriously.Island Drive said:![]()
BP I think you missed the part, "I don't know how"
I think, YOUR STARTED IT, you should finish it JMHO
