Who plays with or has played with a Coker cue ??? Please tell what you think of them one way or the other...Thanks

They are certainly a good cue , I have played with a few of them over the last three years. The cue I have played with were in the $350 to $600 price range and my only complaint to date would be that some of the shaft wood I have seen was not the best looking. Outside of that I think they are good cues.
Tom Coker has built many Customs for me and my friends over the last many years and Every One of them was well worth the money.

I have Tom build me to sell six to ten cues a year. Most are players with very little glitter. I usualy will have Michi inlaly the butt only.I like to see the wood, so I have plain cues built. Tom let's me come in the shop and pick the woods I want to use. over the years I have sold over 50 coker cues and never had a complaint,With maney return buyer's. I use them and compair the hit to my Alex Brick cue's,The price now days is well below the tru value. Try one you will be pleased no matter yor level of play, good luck, Don

Lots of Cokers in Sacramento, and the Central Valley Area of Cali, as Cokers are made in SAC TOWN.
i hear the older ones play better than the ones being made now
Great cues but kinda hard to sell. The secondary market is tough. I took a nice one to the DCC and showed it to several dealers wanting to trade even for a cue that cost 1/3 of what the the Coker did new or the cue plus money and ended up trading it to an individual.
They play well but the resale value is absolutely terrible.
I think they are nice cues but I wouldn't purchase one unless I planned on keeping it until the end of time. They play great, but are considered to be pseudo production cues and therefore have a dramatically lower value and desirability on the secondary market.

I started out with a Pechauer which I used for several years, until it was worn into the ground. When it came time for a new stick I looked around online at just about everything available. From all the research I did I learned one thing, it really comes down to player preference. That's what most people are going to tell you.
I like the way my Coker plays more than I did my Pechauer. It has a Cocobolo wood 2 wood joint which gives a lot of feedback. My Pechauer had an extremely firm hit and the Coker is a little softer, which it turns out helps me play a better game.
People swear by some cuemakers and call their sticks "monster players" but how much is the cue really going to help you? Just buy one that appeals to you. I'll tell you that I think every Coker out there is gorgeous and in my opinion (because of all the Cocobolo) are the prettiest.

I had a very early Coker- from even before he started signing them. It was absolutely beautiful- purpleheartwood with blue points- and it hit really really well. I joked that it had "cruise control."
It was stolen from the trunk of my car at my house the very week I started back playing again after a 6 year hiatus. (My nightmares still involve killing the thief and going to jail for life, but that's a personal problem.)
I have also had the honor of visiting the Coker shop and was very very impressed. I saw them working on a series of Chinese characters on a cnc lathe that were truly impressive. They work hard to be artistic, creative, and to please their every customer.
