I don't know if this is a 70's or 80's cue, maybe even early 90's, but it is one hell of a cue. You did good on the caos too Alton. Sweet cue Sean.
I think I used to own this Petersen cue, I had a 8 point Petersen that was very similar in 91, I owned it for about a year and played with it, It was a great playing cue. I cant remember 100% what the butt looked like but I know the points were like this cue and it had about the same amount of work in the butt. I didnt realize what I had. I'm sick to think for what I traded it for

And THANKS everyone for the GREAT COMMENTS. Imho, Craig is one of the unsung heroes of cuemaking. He was doing incredibly tight, precision work 20-30 years ago on such rudimentary equipment. Not to mention the playability he achieved. This cue is no exception....it rolls laser pin straight and plays fantastic. As was conveyed to me, this cue was bought new from Craig at a trade show in '91 or '92, shortly before his death. It resided in Special K's collection for many years and I'm proud to now have it in mine. Alton's cap set will be very fitting for it !!

on the low points see how on one of the points the point dosent reach the "O" shaped inlay? When I had my Petersen it was banged up so I had Jerry Franklyn refinish it, when he sanded it down the point backed off the one inlay, just one-Exactly like in this pic. That pissed me off, I knew it was a risk, Jerry said it might happen, the point looked thinner than the others and sure enough it did back off. So when I got the cue back from Jerry It looked perfect, brand new-this was in 90 or 91, I was thinking about it. I traded it to Rick ??????? At Best Billiards in Santa Ana? it was in OC somewhere. I never took a picture of the cue, but i did draw it and faxed it to a guy who was interested in buying it, But Rick got the cue from me-it looked brand new, unplayed.
Did Craig build any more forearms that were exactly like this one? with the emblilishments on the points exactly like this? Cause if he didnt then I owned this cue. if he did its possible I didnt own it. I wish the hell I never let it go, I regretted that move ever since I traded it for junk:angry::angry:
