rep points

LOL check out how many rep points Kristi's got since 10am, with 17 posts to her name...this is clearly the best thread of 2006, hands down!

Hover over her rep lights and you will see that her reputation agrees with DCP's assessment, "Kristi Carter is a splendid one to behold" at least at the moment. She may max out rep points before this thread runs it's course.

Mike, can we get some v-bucks gambling going on where Kristi's rep will be at the end of 2006? :D ;) :D

not trying to hijack the thread, but I'll take Gerda Hofstatter all day. She is beautiful...like to watch her play...love to hear her speak!:D

Would be a dream to play with her! Play pool that is!:D
Yep. Gerda has my vote. All class and good game.

I see that at least one person didn't comprehend this boldfaced part. This is a metaphor; it has nothing to do with the links to photos of her on the IPT website. She didn't say anything about being angry with people posting photos of her.

Fred <~~~ thinks writing in metaphors is most attractive

I caught that too. Reading comprehension is not the strong suit of some people.
Hmmmm, painting a picture vs. posting pictures...yeah, I could see how that could be confusing LOL

At this point, there is only one thing for KV and his little AZ fan club to do, and that is sit tight and keep mum until this blows over (if it ever does). But of course, he decides to chime in and defend his shameless, undeserved self-promotion...calling Kristi's character into question, threatening to reveal some unmentionable secret, his crony calling Kristi a "man hater," and other below-the-belt tactics to plug this floodgate of devastating truthfulness.

I guess the only thing that will stop this train-wreck is Allison making her own views on Kevin Varney known on this forum...and if that ever happens, Varney only has himself to blame.

I don't always agree with you, but you have clearly spoken my thoughts.

I am from the South ( I was a drifter)but for 8 months have been living in New Mexico.

Then I think you misunderstood my post. I was in agreement with Fred, not opposed.

Anyhow, have a great holiday.

I love eggnog. I'm about to crack open a carton complimented with a bottle of Wild Turkey 101. :D

Is this the same Kristi Carter that was on TV a few years ago when they had the ESPN Ultimate 9-Ball Challenge? I remember a Kristi Carter battled Helena Thornfeldt. Kristi left a great safety, but Helena managed to get the cue ball through two balls, which seemed like it would be impossible. I was impressed with Kristi's play, and sad to have not seen her play after that. I saw the name, so I thought I'd ask if it was the same person.

I've been in similar situations and knew I was right against the majority's beliefs... it's frustrating as all hell. That being said, the odds ARE against Varney in that situations like this tend to end badly for the target of community scorn and whatever you want to call it. All I can do is stand behind his product.

I got my cue back after he shortened it for me for free to 57" and it plays like nothing I've held. I haven't played with Black Boars, Searings, Skip Westons, and I've only hit with a Southwest once or twice a couple years ago... but I've used every "production" cue from Joss and Schon to McDermott and Viking. It knocks the socks off of the ones I've used in the past. His cues aren't for everyone, but that can be said of any cue builder's product. It fits me perfectly.

As far as judging Kevin, I think I'm going to hold off on that since I wasn't there... just like 99.9% of the rest of you.

In case you're wondering. Popular eggnog recipes include dark rum, bourbon, brandy, and rye.

I can actually take the opportunity here to congratulate Richard for something he didn't do. Richard has several Pros who use his Xbreakers, and I know for a fact I told him about one (in private) who asked to take some shots with my Xbreaker and who said it was really good. However I did not think it appropriate to report second hand what that Pro said and neither did Richard.

I have never once seen him using anyone else to promote his products, unless they were very clearly behind him. (Like the Charlie Bryant special edition.) Whenever I have asked him questions he always answers in detailed technical terms, never "well so-and-so Pro uses it so it must be good." To me it is the sign of a well made product that it stands on it's own merits, and a good manufacturer that lets it.

As for Ms. Carter, call me old fashioned but any man who publicly compares the attractiveness of one woman to another is no gentleman and deserves to be treated accordingly.

Dan,

Thank you very much for showing your X Breaker to other pro players, and thank you for letting me know their feedback.

It is just plain common courtesy not to use a pro player's name to promote a product for commerical gain without his/her express consent and permission. It is disrespectful to say the least.

In my opinion, to actually lie and say a pro player thinks a cue is the best she has even hit with when she didn't, is desperate and unethnical.

This is the first time I see this being called out on this forum, I know a lot of pro players would just remain quiet.

Happy Holidays to you,
Richard

Actually, I feel they should both apologize to each other here on the forum...Maybe Varney did try and get in a plug, but really, no harm done. I sure wasn't going to order a Varney just because Kristi said so. But he did use someone elses name to promote. On the other hand, Kristi was really nasty and abrasive towards Varney...I feel a little less anger and different words still could of gotten the point across...
I feel both were hurt by their posts. We are after all a pool family on here.. Can't we just learn to forgive and forget?? ....How about some of that "maybe I was wrong also and let bygones be bygones"...Do we really need to go into the Christmas holidays with this spirit??? Its really not healthy....

It would be nice not to bash anyone for a while wouldn't it? Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to everybody. Kristi and Varney especially, they need it :)

Naw...one has gained dozens of life-long fans; the other got caught spewing unfounded accolades. I guess it's nice to see this as equally harmful to both parties, but that clearly isn't the case. Varney has shot himself in the mouth, and continues to do so.
