I am wondering what I should exspect from the CSI pay stream?
I watched most of the World 9ball championship for free and it was pretty awesome. It had a bunch of matches to pick, and the main Table was the best HD stream I have seen with the close ups to the wide views flowing in and out! There were some problems like it would sometimes start flashing in and out and once a camera went blank! But, it was free and by far a very great Stream. In the last couple months I finally able to watch Stream on my tv, this will be the first time to pay for a Stream. Should I exspect at least the World 9ball quality or more along the lines of the smaller streams that freeze from time to time and not that focused commentators?

I believe they probably will have a 4-5 camera set up for it, not sure if they will have camera operators on the two floor cameras or not. Quality in the past was excellent and I am sure it will be no different this year along with no one bringing Kenny any water for that cottonmouth. :-)

I would say somewhere in between the best pool and the worst experience you ever had. I'd bet on that.

It will be excellent. TAR always did a fantastic job with their streams and it is the same core group in charge of the CSI stream. It will be slightly less extravagant than the World 9 Ball setup (no slow mo instant replay, no 87 matches to choose from), but the stream quality will be great and they will have several cameras. Also, I believe they said they will have a second table with at least one camera as well during the invitational events.

I would certainly believe the quality to be as equally good albeit pay per view. This shouldn't put you off - It hasn't put me off

I like the commentator combo.

Ken calling the game, Cotton telling stories.

Announcer and color man....I like it.

Anyone knows if we will be able to download the match to our hard drive like TAR?

I won't be home for the whole match but, I would buy if I can download.

I wouldn't be surprised, but one thing TAR has done regularly is to loop the previous days matches up until the next days matches start.

I think it will be one of the best weeks of streamed pool ever. High quality on both the play and production. Kicks off here in a couple of hours with Shane and Ko.

Anyone know if there will be a shot clock?

I don't think it'll be necessary with the 3 challenge matches. None of the players I believe are known for slow play.

The only match that might take time is the 8-ball, but that's because it's scotch doubles so it's likely the players will converse during run outs.

i cant remember if there is a chatroom? i signed up for tonights match with shane and ko.

Thank for the reply. With my current schedule I won't have time until Saturday or Sunday. :frown:

Feedback:
-Quality of stream was very good. Clear and crisp images with multiple cameras and closeups. Commentator Ken Shuman was great as usual and added value with his commentary. Other commentator, Bobby was not as great
-At start of stream had problems watching on iphone and ipad. The stream stuttered.. start and stop and then start and stop. But after I switched over to pC using Google Chrome browser , stream worked fine.

So how did the stream match up? Did it suit your expectations? Did the commentary add to the match?
