CTE Visual Question

There's over 1,100 hits so the interest in CTE Visuals is there tough no answers here.

If I could get an answer to this one hurdle in my CTE learning journey I would be thrilled. Last night's match against my buddy proved mostly successful but there was so much uncertainty in my alignments.

Here's my question.

When I am standing behind the cue ball and the shot before me is a left cut and requires a 15 degree perception (it's not quite a straight-in but closer to 20 degrees) I will first line up ETA with my vision center. With my body remaining still I will move my eyes to the CTE line (it never lines up) and begin to shift my body in a direction that will move the center-cue-ball-edge-line closer to the object-ball-edge. I consider my vision center to be a sort-of vortex that moves until there is equal spacing between the exact object ball points ('A' and edge) and the two lines from the cue ball (edge and center). Surprisingly, I make many more balls than I miss now but want to be sure that this CTE fundamental is understood correctly. Am I on the right track?

I keep reading that "there is only one correct visual per shot". I'm sure there is but would like to know how that "correct visual" appears on the object ball given the visual lines from the cue ball.

its obvious to me you want information from cte users

i too am looking forward to stans new book and videos
as a student of pool with an open mind ....:smile:

This a place to discuss aiming pool balls and nothing half as serious as religion. All you're doing is attempting to legitimize the behavior of some who behave as religious-like zealots.

All points of view should be welcome. And if the guys who behave as if even the mere mention of the name of a particular aiming system is tantamount to blasphemy, they are the ones who should avoid places where free and open (or as close as we can get to it) discussion of *all* aiming systems, approaches, and techniques takes place. If they want a "scared place" to discuss their system and only their system, they need to petition the powers that be to create and protect a forum just for them. End of problem.

But if this is still the Aiming Conversation forum then all discussions about aiming should be on the table.

YOU GUYS points have been discussing with THESE GUYS (CTE ERS )
FOR 20 YEARS
and have not come to an agreement
your arguments havent changed and their answers havent changed
( i havent been thru it for 20 years so cut me some slack for my inaccuracies )
its gotten to the point where the modurators have stepped in to put restrictions on both sides
so
ITS NOT AN OPEN FORUM...for you guys
JUST SAYIN
why dont you guys let the cte -ers play in their sand box
drink the cool aid
and we all can sing koom bah yah

Do you blame any users for not giving public answers here? Why would we with all the bullshit we have to put up with from the non users.

Because this is not *their* sandbox -- it is for *everyone* who wants to discuss aiming at pool balls.

You, and a few others, want to make it an exclusive playground for CTE -- I call bull-shee-toe. This forum is for *everyone* that wants to talk about aiming. Some of that will include CTE and Pro1 and Stan Shuffet and a lot of it will not. It is the *Aiming Conversation* forum. Not the CTE, Pro1, I love Stan Shuffet forum.

Thanks for the comment. Hope you find the answers and enjoy CTE as much as I have. In as short as two weeks I've made tremendous progress and am already confindent enough to shift my focus more to stroke speed and cue ball positioning.

How are you a part of "everyone" when you claim to be a "NON-AIMER" of pool balls? You just "See the shot". You have NOTHING to discuss. Nobody is stopping you from talking about aiming. START A THREAD! How about CONTACT POINT AIMING - FRACTION AIMING - 90/90 AIMING - SAMBA AIMING - SEE SYSTEM AIMING - EQUAL AND OPPOSITE AIMING - SHADOW AIMING - LIGHTS AIMING.

Tell us everything you know and love about aiming, Lou.

Some of that will include CTE and Pro1 and Stan Shuffet and a lot of it will not. It is the *Aiming Conversation* forum. Not the CTE, Pro1, I love Stan Shuffet forum.

I guess you've never read the aiming forum rules written by Mike Howerton or seen the warnings by Mr. Wilson regarding what can be posted and what can't be posted about CTE, Pro1, or personal attacks on Stan Shuffett as you've done in the past. READ THEM, Lou.

With over 1,100 hits the interest is not in CTE visuals. It's in the blood spilled and carnage as it always is. Nothing like being at the Rome Colosseum, an Ali-Frazier fight, or Tyson-Holyfield fight back in the days. This is similar on a different scale.

Sitting in a missile command capsule, there's nothing like an incoming message from Omaha upping your DEFCON status to get your blood pumping. It happened to me sometime in the late 70's. Turns out it was a bad NORAD chip that "detected" a massive incoming Soviet missile attack.

I stopped posting about fractions and Mosconi methods in order to leave the fractions followers alone and not annoy them. (Dan White considered my posts about that as an attack on his friend Brian Crist's book about Poology as well as an offense to Lou Figueroa). So, I quit posting my opinions on it.
It just seems like the anti-CTE people could do likewise and stop posting about CTE and Stan Shuffett in order to leave the CTE followers alone as well.
I've read the personal attacks on Stan Shuffett with the name calling of "snake oil salesman", "huckster",......some from the person you're addressing. Yet, that person is still here and still at it.
This aiming forum will never change until certain people have been tossed right out the door. It is a waste of time for new students of CTE, "see the shot", 90-90, samba, "hope for the best", poology, or any other aiming method to inquire about stuff here.
I even got lectured by member Lamas for complimenting a shooter on his success and describing some of mine with the CTE. ("for not sticking to aiming system conversation", Lamas said).
The personal stuff in this aiming forum is, in my opinion, just a big pain in the ass.
Who needs this grief.........:shrug:

I agree. It's also time consuming and a time waster. Maybe I need to learn how to play an instrument or get into guns and shooting.
