Cue Design Theft This Crap Needs To Stop!!!!

Wow! If you were going to produce a knockoff, why not a Joss or a McDermott? I've never played with a Meucci that I would even want to own.

I wonder the same thing...

For some reason league players seem to love Lucasi's and Meucci's...

Maybe it's something with the name in cursive on the butt that makes people say "now that is one classy cue!". So, if you're going to make a knock-off, your market is going to be the bar/league player, and they love that cursive name on the butt, so, you make Lucasi and Meucci knock-offs :)

I e-mailed Carlscues about a palmer look a like they had to ask if it was inlays or what and he stated the inlays were overlays but with the finish he said you could not tell it. What does he think people are blind or crazy.
Buy AMERICAN and keep our country going and our cuemakers working.
I agree, BUY AMERICAN!!

Meucci can get design Patents to protect themselves. They just need to go to www.uspto.gov
All kinds of great info and downloadable forms.

That guy sells so much crap. He says things like notajoss. He tries to make you think his cues are factory seconds. They have "slight" rolls and such. Type in "custom pool cue" and 90% of the results will be crap.

Why is this not being reported to EBAY, and WHY is EBAY allowing it to HAPPEN?????

I think the problem is that he is not claiming to sell a (insert real name brand here). He has stuff like "This is not a (insert name again)." which keep him from being drawn and quartered.

If he was representing it as a (name) and it truly wasn't, THAT is grounds for nuclear attack.

Shifty sales tactic, but not against eBay rules I'm afraid..

(Please note I do not endorse what he is doing)

Please let us not turn this into another buy American thread.
There are many imports that are good product. CarlsCues concentrates on selling the inferior imports and always has.
The question at hand is Carlscues and his Ebay selling practice.:frown:
Ebay states in their rules that it is a violation of policy to use statements such as "Like Meucci" or "Same as Such and Such". Or at least they use to.
He is in violation and should be reported.:smash:
Look at the bottom of his listings, he even sells instruction of how to rip people off on ebay.:frown::mad:

I worked for a company that made a certin product that was unique to the market, there was nothing like it that anyone made.Someone realized that we had no competitors so they purchaced one, took it appart and started copying it and selling it for less.the company I worked for filed a lawsuit aginst the other company and lost.It was ruled that it was not the same product because thet were using 6mm bolts instead of 1/4-20 bolts other than that they were exact copies.I would imagine that those crooks making the cues probably know all the laws and just work around them.I'll bet if you go back 150 year those guys would get a little high speed lead poisoning from a 45-70 Sharps, they didn't care much for thieves back then. What Meucci should do is just get an ebay account and buy all of them then just stiff the guy on his payment.Just keep doing it until ebay boots them and start another account under another name.eventually maybe he will get the point. It sounds crooked but its no more crooked than selling his knock-off.

Please go to ebay and look at what this guy is offering, he is also offering Knock Off designs from Joss and other cue makers. This is my biggest problem with imports and this theft hurts our country in many more ways than just cues and cases.

I agree with everything you said, and I applaud you for your information. But, I disagree with you on this point, this is exactly why you should buy American, because some one would not get away with producing these same items in the US. So yes in my opinion this is a Buy American Thread, because the people being hurt are Americans.

We will have to agree to disagree on this point!!!!:)

People has anyone else seen the lastest Asian copies of Meucci Cues being sold on eBay. They are all being sold by eBay Seller Carlscues, I have reported this guy to Meucci, hopefully they can do something about it.

Please don't support this Scum bag he is directly responsible for design theft. I have done a little checking with my suppliers and to my knowledge this guy is having the cues produced himself.

Below are some links to his actions, again please do not buy anything from this guy!!!!

Buyer Beware

I'm not sure how he is going to sell these? There is no pics of the cues. Plus he lists them as "Nottamoochy" cues. Did he remove the pics between the OP and me looking?

But this cue even comes with a " Moori-like" tip! How can you resist that?

I think this kind of thing has been going on forever and will continue. Yes, he is ripping off Meucci, Joss, etc. The thing is, Joss really isn't losing many sales over this. I seriously doubt anyone would be considering buying a Joss, and then says " oh, look at this, THIS is what I want!".

They are not going for the same market. Someone who would buy this would prob never pay $150 or more for a cue.

Anyone interested in some OOKLEY sunglasses? They go great with my Rollecks watch!

Look at the bright side. More repair work for all.....as long as they don't fall apart before getting them in the lathe !!!!!!!!

$ 29.99???????

Daddy always said " You don't always get what you pay for, But you dam sure don't ever get more than what you pay for."

With the way today's economy and job market are, I say buy American regardless of what the foreign quality is.

You are damn right Craig. As you already know, I try to buy American as much as I can, but if I was gonna buy an import, carlscues is the last jackass on earth I would deal with. That guy is a slimy puss covered bag of horse puke, and needs to be beaten severely.

Let's return all the Honda Accords, Toyota Corolla's, BMW's, Volkswagen, Swiss Clocks, Computers, Calculators, Printers, Scanners, MP3's, cellphones, toasters, microwaves, silverware, glassware, china, compact discs, stereos, speakers, turntables, and almost all or 99 percent of the stuff we have at home. Try to find all these items made in America.

What a bunch of BULL$HIT.....!!!!.

You are right Craig I do Disagree. It's not about buy American
You are right that people should not buy from Carlscue he sells China crap.
The stuff that gives the better imports a bad name.
You and I both know there are much better products coming in.
Just like there are good and bad cuemakers in America, there are good and bad Imports.
Do the numbers it is impossible for every poolplayer in America to own an American made cue both financially and the fact that there are just not enough cues to fill the need.
