CUE GALLERY..... dealers......

I have made a personal decision. Any dealers that post pics on here and then mysteriously decide to put them up for sale a week later...hahahaha

From this point on I wont be interested in buying one of them ever again.

If the cue is going to be for sale, put it where it belongs. And for me that likes to show everyone pics of what I just got.....well they have allready seen it here.

Its only me...one guy...so I am sure nobody gives a crap.....just want to give my 2 cents

I don't totally agree. I can see your point, but there's two sides to the coin. By posting pics here in the gallery, the dealer can get interest started, get people thinking about the cue. Then once they put it up for sale, chances are good somebody has already been eyeballing it & it'll be a faster sale. So it kinda makes sense to post it in the gallery.

Another thing would be cuemakers posting pics. I like to post pics every so often of cues I like. Sometimes those cues are going to dealers, and will be for sale.

Steve I agree with you, but you must remember their is a difference between a Cue Dealer and a Cue Pimp!!!!!!!!!!!! You can always tell the difference by reading the statement about the cue, and looking closely at the photo's, to see if the cue is actually a Pimp Stick!!!!!!!

Take Care Steve

I understand the whole marketing approach these guys are using to sell these cues. But for someone like me that loves to show my cues on here for everyone to enjoy, it kind of limits that. As in a cue I just bought today was all over the gallery for the last 2 weeks.

I guess whats better for the many is the way to go, it would end up limiting my posting of pics, but if I dont buy under these conditions anymore than it wont matter.....JMHO

Craig, you have to help me with this dealer cue versus PIMP stick....it sounds too cool not to know exactly what you mean..LOL

I understand your point, but what about the other end of the spectrum. I also like showing some of the cues I have collected over the years. It seems like everytime I show one I get a dozen or so offers to buy them. If I wanted to sell them I would post them in the Wanted/Sale section.

So take new pics & show them off. Otherwise, I think the best way to get a "virgin" is to get the cue directly from the builder, with him knowing that you want to be the one to reveal it. Don't get me wrong, some dealers are great & really help relieve the stresses of a builder in the customer relations department. By all means keep using dealers. But any cue can have better pictures. Get a cue that's been a picture slut all over the forums, and get some very nice, classy & clear pics taken of it & everybody will love looking at it again. Quality pictures can make a plain cue very pleasing to look at. Bad pictures can make awesome cues unbearable to look at. So maybe focus a little more on the picture quality more than getting caught up on how many times it's been in the gallery. I love seeing very close & clear pics of cues with great lighting & good backdrops. Even if it's a cue I have seen a hundred times, new great pics breathes new life and interest into them. It's kinda like getting a fresh paint job on a car, makes it good to look at again.

posting it in here is good too since some members who might want to buy the cue dont actually check the wanted/for sale section of this forum

Huh, I don't understand. Because why, your thread might get bumped and
won't hang at the top forever. Its a gallery, if a cue maker wants to show his wares, its the same thing. Hes proud of what hes built and if it creates a hit for a sale, more power to him.
Seriously, what are the cue makers supposed to do, hang on to them forever?
I do believe I've seen a few of your cues for sale as well.

Oh god, I hope they won't have to file for bankruptcy. Thats a petty and smarmy statement, pretty close to being a threat. Stay out of the Tikler Forum or I won't ever buy from you.

What about cuemakers who post pics of a batch of cues they have coming along, and a few of them are sold, a few are available?

I think what Steve means is that some people post a cue like it's there personal prize possession and then "decide" to sell it the next day. If you're gonna sell the cue, say that, don't give us the sudden change of mind story. Honesty is a huge issue in this industry and as of late, I feel that we are seeing less and less of it. We are not stupid people, we talk to each other, we all know what goes on behind the scenes. Don't try to be deceptive, your gonna get caught anyway, realize that squeezing someone for that extra dollar may not be in your best interest. I for one have a memory like an elephant and will not deal with people that have used deceptive tactics with me or my friends in the past. It's called trust, build some!

My take,

Doug

if anyone posts a cue even just to show it off then someone decides they would like the cue for whatever reason so be it ! what if steve posts his cues and someone decides they like it and contacts him asking him to sell that cue is he going to say no? or would he consider selling that cue. in most cases everything is for sale ? and i did say most cases i realize some things are not i have afew i wouldnt sell . I think this is a cue galley if some one posts there pictures and is contacted to sell the cue theres nothing wrong with that.
