Cut Off Date For Players Refund U.S Open

No the free entry went away I think last year. Barry now only does the free entry for the previous year's winner.

The 75K in added money is there (in the purse) regardless of how many players enter! That much I'm sure about. On another note, I'm willing to bet there are over 100 players in this year's U.S. Open 9-Ball. I can't bet on the matches or individual players but I can bet on this. Any takers - the window is open!

make it 105 and you got a bet!! $100 And no shows from the free entries dont count

If I had any game left I would go off for the dime. Well worth it to get inside the ropes with that caliber of player.

I should have my racking down to an art when it's over.

We're talking total players in the tournament, free entry or not. That way we keep it simple. 104 or above for me and you've got action! $100

what im saying if Gabe Owen, John Schmidt or any of the other free entries (1-15) dont show/play, they dont count. Any other paid no shows (money must be in prize fund) will count- yay or nay on 104 or above?

Once again, let's keep it simple. I'm talking about how many players actually go to the starting line. If they aren't there we won't draw for them and they won't be in the field. Is that simple enough for you? Or do you want me to start drawing pictures on here?

since you are being a dick-no bet-anyone else want this bet?

Wow list posted by oldzilla today having only 33 entries when 10ish plus are free entries. All the dead money in this event is gone. This will be 85(free+paid entries) tops, similar light showing like the US Open 8b and 10b.

How anyone could think Jay was a dick is beyond me ? Unless of course they were looking in the mirror and actually saw the real ***** they were referring to

I don't know who you are or who you think you are, but you're a POS to me. FLUSH. Johnnyt

im crushed....lets put it like this...what was the point of this thread?to pick on jay or pat? if youre as sharp as you say you are you know barry isnt reading anything and doesnt care anyway so what did you expect to accomplish?

Nostroke, please explain this intemperate comment re Jay being a dick. What am I missing?

Jay seems to be clear that the number of players being calculated for the purposes of the bet is based on there being more than 104 players actually being there and being in the draw and playing in the tournament. How does that make him a dick?

What is the cut-off date for U.S Open players to get a refund of their $1000 entry fee if less than a certain amount don't sign or any other reason? I would hope they wouldn't be locked in a tournament that promised 128 payers and only gets 65 paying players, less points, and a smaller purse. Johnnyt

By way of full disclosure I must admit that I have not been a fan (to put it mildly) of the way Barry has run the US Open in recent years. I do, however, believe that this event has a chance to survive (and would love to see it thrive) with Jay and Pat striving to keep it alive; without them it was on life support and there were more than a few hands willing to pull the plug.

That said, Johnnyt, I am curious as to why you decided to broach this subject in this way. Please enlighten me as to what your concerns are. Most of the posts you do are quite supportive of pool in general so this seems to be somewhat out of character.

Johnny,

Who says the entry fee is refundable?

I would like to propose that we let the event happen, then if we don't like something, criticize it. Also, let's try not to make Jay responsible for Barry Behrman.

Does this seem reasonable to you?

Chris
