For those that don't know.. Barry just announced that Dan Louie passed out during his match and was rushed into emergency surgery. I've known Dan since the 70s and he is a great person and player. We all hope and pray he will be well.

Second your remarks. Fingers crossed, hoping for the best.

I heard they feared it was a stroke. I will say a prayer for him and I hope all goes well for him.

i heard about it earilyer today and thought it was the heat or something, but after what Barry said-that his family was in route, i dont hnow what to think, i hope its nothing, i have met him a few times he is a great man, player.

Wow... I hope he gets well soon and whatever it may be was minor - I played with him just a few weeks ago and he looked to be in great health, but illness can be very tricky...

A couple of people called me late afternoon with the news. This was shocking to hear. I certainly hope he is alright. I consider him a good friend. I offer up a prayer to the gods and hope all turns out well.

He passed out at the table for a minute. When he came to, he was able to coherently answer all questions posed to him. That's all I've heard so far.

That's horrible man, I saw Dan at the Spokane open not too long ago and he seemed like he was in good health at the time

I don't normally pray or anything like that but I'll definately send one up for Dan tonight

I hope he is ok. He is a great guy the best.... It is a shock right now to hear this.........

I am from the northwest where he has played I used to watch him and learn to play by watching him.... a real champion..... a real champion...good luck Danny...

Andrew

Prayers for Danny & His family.

Danny is a great person, and asset for our sport. Let alone a world champion on top of that. I've received some info on what was going on with Dan, but do to privacy for him & his family I'll hold off on saying anything. I'm glad Jeff was with him on this trip to the Open. Some of Danny's family members have left the Seattle area to be with him on the East Coast. For all of us that know Danny and for those that don't he's a warrior day in and day out. Dan is very positive and may indeed take some time to relax & heal up but he won't ever be complaining. That's just Danny. Our prayers go out to him from the NW. Jeff we'll keep you in our thoughts, and prayers as well to get home safe. Good luck and safe playing to All of the players at the Open.

Dan Louie is the nicest champion pool player I have ever known. All my prayers and best wishes.

I suspect from the information reported in the BD article reprinted on AZ that it could be kidney stones, appendix, or some other abdominal ailment. Hopefully there will be an announcement soon about his recovery. Dan Louie has been one of our sport's treasures for many years.

Prayers are always welcome. (whether frequent or not) I will keep you (Dan) in my constant prayers. Does anyone know if it is the same obstacle that he has been living with for years? Is he still on the east coast? Does anyone know which hospital. He is very humble, but has always been kind. I'm sure he would appreciate a note and prayers. Thaks for the info.
A Great Player and Gentleman. A true Champion.
A Speedy Recovery. May the Angels be at your side.
Little Debbie
