So if anyone owns good video content or is producing something that pool enthusiasts would enjoy, feel free to contact me.

Feel free to add any of my videos to your site. My stuff is mostly 14.1 and mental game material - if you need the links to the videos, get with me. They are easy to find on Google, veoh, and youtube.

Joe Tucker has been posting some great instructional videos for the past few days - he is posting some fantastic learning material at an alarming rate and I can hardly keep up with him. LOL

There sure is a lot of great instructional material out there today!

I guess it depends on whether you are a dvd collector or a guy trying to get inside the brain of a great straight pool player.

Agreed

D-man,
My sentiments exactly.

I've ordered mine already (not arrived). If the lesson shows up scribbled with crayon on old, used fish-wrap newspaper; I'll STILL be grateful for the lessons. I want to learn how to play pool; NOT show off my fancy jewel cases.

This is A POOL FORUM; NOT A "DVD COLLECTORS" FORUM. Those of us who care about the wrapping need to rush in their subscription to the new magazine "DVD AFFICIONADO" (Danny H. will NOT be on the cover; and neither will I).

I agree with Don.

I do understand what you mean by the packaging taking you aback some, marketing and customer satisfaction is alot about perception than reality.
That said, when you stick it in the dvd player and it starts playing...would the shiny print have made the video or sound any better?

I really think if Danny would personally sign every disc (on the disc not the jewel case)

Dear XXX
thanks for the support, enjoy the video!
Danny Harriman

That would be worth much more to me than any kind of four color insert or thermal printing on the disc.

Maybe you can ask Danny to do that for you.

This *****ing on the boards will get you negative pushback by people like me who think you are complaining about something that actually is meaningless and possibly can be seen as an extra benefit if modified a bit.

I knew it would turn into a bashing session. I nearly stated my opinion, does my opinion that the disc should have a cover and printing mean that Danny's disc is any less of the greatest dvd to have regarding 14.1 runs? NO not at all, I actually almost crashed on my way to work today on the turnpike due to watching it. I will watch it many times as I love the game of 14.1 and don't have ANYONE in my area to teach me more of the game, I learn it on my own and this disc will help. Last comment for me would be I wouldnt expect to buy a bluray movie without label and printing, I figured the same here. As I said I will watch this DVD probally 100 times before the end of the year. I meant no one any harm and didnt "go off" as some.

David,
I will be contacting you as your videos are amongst the type I want to promote and make more easily available.

I'm currently setting up the procedures. Looked into lulu.com and similar services as you have. Will use my website www.cue-tv.com to promote them, via excerpts, when all that falls into place.

A lot of good content can be produced. Currently little is available and there are barriers to entry with making what could be called an acceptable market product.

My service will launch officially in the next 5 weeks. I hope it will provide easier access and another marketing channel for fringe content producers.

I'm actually glad that when I buy the DVD, as much of that money as possible will be going to Danny. I'd rather it be that way than for my money to going to waste on packaging. That said, it was a good point that someone made about making the disc distinguishable from counterfeits. Regardless of that, I really like Uwate's idea about signing each disc. :)

This is so true! The players are really benefiting from this. I've watched a number of your videos, as well as the recent Joe Tucket videos. His videos on the table make the game look easy, and your videos on the mental game make it sound easy! Really, great stuff from both of you. Kudos!

I believe when Mike Sigel made his "Perfect Pool" Series, he duplicated the DVDs himself and wrote on them with a Crayon! Remember that?
I'd just like a DVD that is labeled so you can pick it out from blank DVDs if it comes out of it clear jewel case.

Ok Str8poolbanger, u said u almost crashed your car while trying to watch the dvd, this sounds like your multitasking driving while trying to learn. My advice is don't take the time to multitask worrying about a books cover, if your interested in the subject plug it into your dvd blue ray thingy ma bopper - and then watch it. I'm happy u like the disc and if u wanted me to acknowledge u then I have so thanks for the purchase. But please don't try to view the disc while driving. Your either in too much of a hurry or worried about trivial bullmalarkey, watch the disc while not commuting and if it helps you then feel free to mention it when u see me at a non-invitational tournament.

Danny,

Thanks for the time spent making the DVD. I've watched it about 4 times so far and will see it again many times. The quality of the production is very good, sharp and clear with great audio. I think I received a great value for my money spent.

I think that you yourself already know the areas that need improvement for your next DVD. I'll bet the future ones have labels and a more professional looking cover. That said, I can only hope that the next one has similar great content and more tools for aspiring players like myself. I thing I learned more from this DVD than any other I've ever seen. Keep up the good work...Tom

I just received my dvd yesterday, and I have already watched it twice.

It's a great learning-tool for anyone who wants to perform better in 14-1! I am waiting for your next dvd Danny. I hope you make enough money on this that it's worth to produce some more instructional-tapes!!

RS,
I just received my copy of the DVD a few days ago, and much to my surprise the plain clear jewel case was CRACKED. At first I cried. I was so upset that I rushed to see a psychiatrist. He talked me out of committing suicide; he told me the cracked case could be REPLACED (why didn't I think of that??????). So on the way home from the psychiatrist I watched the whole DVD while driving home (though it was a little difficult to concentrate properly on the lesson with all those other drivers continually honking their horns; there are a LOT of inconsiderate drivers around here; you'd think they would be more concerned about the noise pollution).

Oh wait.....I made this all up.....the disc is actually FABULOUS. MANY THANKS TO DANNY FOR THE OBVIOUS EFFORT PUT INTO THIS DISC (who could possibly give a #$%@ about the packaging???).

me now basher too

my turn for bashing
I have read Mully's ridiculous thread and now this.
Young Mr. Harriman puts together a great run, adds commentary, then manages to produce and ship copys of the disc to fellow pool enthusiasts.
that is enough for me.
anyone who complains about the packaging is seriously screwed up.

My case actually was cracked and so was the dvd! no kidding.
I emailed danny and he sent me another copy, no questions asked! My new copy arrived about a week later.

Mike Sigel charges hundreds for a pool lesson. Getting this much instruction for 40 bucks is a pretty good deal.

You know times have changed when pool players use to go to their grave with their knowledge of pool...and now we don't like it if they share what they know but don't tie a pretty bow on top.

Hilarious.
