You're hilarious. I advertise in the threads that are appropriate for doing it. And I wasn't calling out Cashrider or Danny for tooting Danny's horn. I thought the advertisement was cleverly written and funny and deep.

Nice try on the inferior case remark. I bet you won't put up any money to back up your remark though. But hey, thanks for bringing cases into the thread now we can talk about them instead of the Danny-For-Hire subject.

So what do you say, how about a Consumer Reports style INDEPENDENT lab test broadcast on TAR? You bring whatever cases you want in whatever price class you want and I will put up whatever I have in the same price class and let Consumer Reports decide the best protection and value for the money is. I have $10,000 ready to post to TAR for my side of it.

Or, is it just that you were compelled to open your mouth and insert your foot?

If the price of getting "respect" is to kiss everyone's ass then I guess I will settle for not getting any from you. Obviously not "everyone" can't stand me as the fact that more than 60 people here at AZ, many of them WELL RESPECTED members of the forum and prolific posters, have purchased cases from me.

As for the remark about cutting other people's work, well Celtic, if someone puts their work out there then they damn well ought to be able to stand up to criticism of it. Or do you feel that how something is made is OFF LIMITS? Don't you think that I have MUCH MORE to lose by being openly critical of my colleagues/competitor's work because by doing so I INVITE much more scrutiny of my own work?

What possible reason could I have for saying that so-and-so's case is not good in this or that aspect? Um, to COMPARE between what I FEEL is good, based on my experience with the subject matter. What's wrong with that? Or maybe you think it's better that we just compete on LOOKS only and whoever makes the prettiest case is the "best"? Is that what you think?

But, AS USUAL, you completely IGNORE where I praise my colleagues to the stars for all the things that they do well. Go back and you find plenty of times where I have praised them all for their classy styles, their innovative designs, their creativity, their craftsmanship. But that doesn't interest you does it?

So, in the interest of keeping this thread on track, do we have a bet or not? If I win then I will use your money to back Danny Medina in a Challenge Match against anyone who is from the list of states he has posted.

I do want everyone to know that I virtually never knock anyone trying to "do something" in this sport. I support most all of it; however this guy rubbed me wrong. I sent a pm of interest to him, he takes that and goes on to run his keyboard about it, then calls my home (!)
and talks to my wife about this rather than patiently awaiting my further pm communications.

Edit: I get serious flashbacks to all of the following with you: Hilton North American Tour, Pro Players Million Dollar Championships, NSCSSS (whatever it was called), IPT, and many others that tried these things without knowing pool.

You said yourself, you are a stockbroker. Not a marketer, promoter, organizer, or recognized poolplayer.

CASHRIDER, were there any stipulations on the types of game Danny would play in the challenge matches. As an outsider it would seem that Scott Frost (you said anyone in arizona could get played even) could probably get a stake together to play him some one pocket or bartable nine ball.
Also you might want to try and post something about possible challenge matches in the Action section

ill play. im going to be in cali from the 2 to 11 of jan. im out there to go desert riding on a xr400 i just bought with my dad.

also to see my best pal bill.

anyway i had not planned on playing pool at all its a vacation.

if medina feels like playing long race of 10ball even in cali while im there ill get off the dirt bike practice for an hour or two and try to not get robbed.

lets post in the next couple days and get it on

The one thing I am curious about is Danny having a stakehorse,if he does then I am sure a game can be arranged,but if not then this all is just pointless,find a backer and trust me you wont have a problem finding an opponent. :wink:

If Schmidt plays Medina even I will bet a few hundred on John for sure,sorry but I think Medina cant run with John especially in a long set but we will see if there is life in the old boy.To be honest there are probably a 100 pool players who will love to play Danny even but there has to be a reason he cant find one backer.

sounds fair.
lets play at derby .that will give him and i time to get our ducks in a row.
danny knows im not a pushover and the same goes for him.

i respect that, he knows its a close game and he wants to play anyway.

sometimes i wish tourneys would all fade away and all the players just played each other for money.

that would be exciting
