Boro Nut said:Yes, we'd all noticed you don't play it very well. Probably why most Americans think pool is a boring sport.
I know you don't think it's been fun if you don't get to sing your national anthem at the end of a competition but face facts, you can't actually sing your national anthem anyway. It's not really a national anthem if you have to pay someone to sing it for you is it?

Boro Nut said:Were we watching the same match? Earl sharked him non-stop. Watch Rodney Morris play he's up next. You'll see all the heart and national pride you need, with perfect sportsmanship. No comparison. I've yet to see Earl win a match without sharking his opponent.
Boro Nut said:So who was it sharking Ralf on the last two balls for the win? Not Mr Sportsmanship Morris. It was our good old non-playing friend Earl. Calling out when your opponent is in play is reprehensible enough. When you're not even playing is beyond contempt.
You really need to decide if you want pool to be thought of as entertainment or a sport. It's not a sport without sportsmanship and respect for the rules and your opponent.

That being said, Darryl Peach is a total class act, as are all the Europeans that played in the Mosconi Cup. He is a sportsman first and a true competitor in every sense of the word. The captain of Team Europe was also a class guy and a smart leader as well. It took a lot of prodding to get Darryl so riled up, believe me.
I can also say the same for all the members of Team USA bar one. I said it long ago and I will say it publicly again. Earl's behavior is disgraceful! He is absolutely the worst sport I have ever seen in any professional sport, BY FAR! McEnroe ain't close. He transcends bad sportsmanship and borders on insanity. It's a fine line between genius and insanity, and Earl has crossed it.
I will not sit idly by while excuse makers find reasons to condone Earl's boorish and inflammatory behavior. This is a man operating in a different reality from the rest of us. I saw it first hand this week.
Yeah but how would that wind anybody up?easy-e said:Do you really want to transition from arguing about pool ethics into insulting our country and it's anthem? I suggest you keep on the original subject of the poor sportsmanship of those individuals.

If you would like to get a pound or two down on that proposition, I'll take the other side.Boro Nut said:I confidently predict Earl will be the first name down in the next US team. Barry Hearn is no mug. He must be lapping this up.
