Earl might not be the scum of the earth, but he certainly is the scum of professional pool, he is a disgrace to American professional sports, and if I was Peach my words would have been stronger.

lol, you cant be serious.....If Earl walked up to you and said "What Did you SAY?" youd give him all that huh?

What the hell is wrong with people? why does everything about Earl have to be bad? Did He Screw your Momma? Why does people Hate him so, If I had the game he is capable of, wow, he is one of the greatest in his era, yet he gets no respect,This has drove him partly insane! look at all the gadgets, he is trying to hustle the hustler.....

If He realized all he needs to do is play the game, Remember what got him all those titles, and stick to it.. he would be in the top 3 in the world until he retired. From what Ive seen and heard, he is playing appox, 80-85% of his ability, if that. that to me is amazing... He does let things get to him, obviously..

other than visiting granny in louisiana back in 94, when did you leave your trailer in alabama?

= )

Its good to know everyone thinks us Bama folk is some poor inbred hicks that never leave our great state and sit in our trailer all day watching Jerry Springer.

I'll leave this thread now, I guess I'm too dumb to read it.

Yes, we'd all noticed you don't play it very well. Probably why most Americans think pool is a boring sport.

I know you don't think it's been fun if you don't get to sing your national anthem at the end of a competition but face facts, you can't actually sing your national anthem anyway. It's not really a national anthem if you have to pay someone to sing it for you is it?

Boro Nut

Do you really want to transition from arguing about pool ethics into insulting our country and it's anthem? I suggest you keep on the original subject of the poor sportsmanship of those individuals.

Were we watching the same match? Earl sharked him non-stop. Watch Rodney Morris play he's up next. You'll see all the heart and national pride you need, with perfect sportsmanship. No comparison. I've yet to see Earl win a match without sharking his opponent.

In the match that I saw, Ms. Tabb had to admonish the crowd TWICE and put time back on the clock for Earl. Earl was VERY in control UNTIL Peach said something!!! Nearly EVERYONE was after Earl in this one. And bottom line is....Earl came to the table, with the Mosconi Cup on the line, against the current World Champion...AND KICKED THAT ASS!! Way to go Earl!!

As far as seeing Earl win a match without sharking, ! can send you the dvd of the most recent match between Earl and Efren (2005? US Open) Earl handed Bata his ass on a silver platter.

So who was it sharking Ralf on the last two balls for the win? Not Mr Sportsmanship Morris. It was our good old non-playing friend Earl. Calling out when your opponent is in play is reprehensible enough. When you're not even playing is beyond contempt.

You really need to decide if you want pool to be thought of as entertainment or a sport. It's not a sport without sportsmanship and respect for the rules and your opponent.

Who was it that threw out a dummy the day before?

If the "dazzler" fights anything like arm punching, sissified HATTON there's no doubt EARL would lick him...

What's really sad about Hatton was he was winning Americans over. Some of my buddies were at the fight and the Brits booed the national anthem. My friends, who bet on Hatton, started cheering on Mayweather. I've never heard of Americans going to another country and booing someone's anthem. Pretty classless IMO.

I have read a fair amount about Darryl Peach, how he conducted himself at the World Championships, as well as an interview of him for a magazine, and what I really think is that he is a credit to the sport, with a great, fun personality. Time will show the nonbelievers that he brings a great deal to the sport.

Just to set the record straight. I'm not pro Europe or pro Philipines or pro any country for that matter when it comes to pool. What I am is pro Pool. I am for the sport and anything that dignifies it and makes it stronger.

That being said, Darryl Peach is a total class act, as are all the Europeans that played in the Mosconi Cup. He is a sportsman first and a true competitor in every sense of the word. The captain of Team Europe was also a class guy and a smart leader as well. It took a lot of prodding to get Darryl so riled up, believe me.

I can also say the same for all the members of Team USA bar one. I said it long ago and I will say it publicly again. Earl's behavior is disgraceful! He is absolutely the worst sport I have ever seen in any professional sport, BY FAR! McEnroe ain't close. He transcends bad sportsmanship and borders on insanity. It's a fine line between genius and insanity, and Earl has crossed it.

I will not sit idly by while excuse makers find reasons to condone Earl's boorish and inflammatory behavior. This is a man operating in a different reality from the rest of us. I saw it first hand this week.

great post jay!!!!

Guys, lets just take a few steps back here for a moment :)

It doesn't matter who said this or who done that, sharking by anyone at anytime during a player's turn at the table, is bang out of order and some guys have been removed from the tournament for doing so, personally I think that it's the player's responsibility to say to the referree that there is sharking going on, and it's up to the referree to have that person removed from the audience and/or if it's the opponent who is sharking, they should lose the rack automatically because that's cheating, pure and simple.

I have all the respect in the world for all pool players, including Earl, as I have met and spoken with Earl on a few occasions and he's perfectly fine to chat with, but when I see scenes like the throwing of the dummy on day 2? was bang out of order, and I would like to think that Matchroom will take a bit more consideration and responsibility to ensure that ALL players get a little bit more respect and consideration form BOTH the audience and the players alike.

I agree wholeheartedly with you on that Jay.

Earl was seriously out of line and there's no excuse for his sharking and short fuse, but at the same time, some of the fans were out of line as well, as the saying goes 'there's no smoke without fire', but that does not excuse Earl's behaviour in any way, shape or form.

I confidently predict Earl will be the first name down in the next US team. Barry Hearn is no mug. He must be lapping this up.

If you would like to get a pound or two down on that proposition, I'll take the other side.

I just hate posts that put us down because of what happend in the 60's. We're not dating our sisters and chewing tobacco in our 1970 model trailers down here all the time (there are plenty though). I had to take my white sheet off my head to post this (once again, total b.s. and a joke). Apology accepted, I knew you were joking and just wanted to defend my great state. I'm sure you understand;) I was alittle rough on you as well so I apologize.

I agree fully with Jay also. But lets not forget that Peach is just as classless IMO for throwing something.
