Dennis and Tony Sitting in a Tree

Since we have the AzBilliards expert handicappers on board, what is a fair game between Dennis and Keith McCready? Negotiations are in progress with Dennis' handler(s). Keith has not been playing, and Dennis is in dead-punch stroke.

Dennis is returning to Metro D.C. area before SBE, so this game is a possibility if the handicap is right.

13 to 7 looks like the right number.

That said, if the game is right, Keith's doing it to have some fun.

Keith said if anybody things he's taking 9-7, he said, "Think again." :grin-square:

Why ask if you already know what you want

I didn't know what was a good spot when I wrote the post earlier this morning. Since that time, Keith has woken up, and when he read this thread, standing behind me, those were his thoughts. Hope that helps clarify things for you.

Keith said for coming out of retirement and having the play the best player in the world right now, having not hit a ball for 10 years or more, he would normally try to pick a little better spot to put his money than playing Dennis Orcullo, the best player in the world as we speak. 13 to 7 looks like the right number.

Going to 7 is smacking superman stone cold in the mouth. Its a lot of balls to get and run!!!

You really have to factor in the breaking advantage. Getting 7 on Orcollo's break will be next to impossible. I think frost won less than 5 games total on orcollo's break in 4 days!

Just my 2 cents

Everybody knows about Keith's prowess at 9-Ball, when he struck fear in just about everyone not named Parica (Keith was the only man to beat him on his arrival in America!). What they don't know is that he was a One Pocket force as well, with only the top players playing him even. Of course, he's approaching 60 now and out of action for many years, so he is an unknown entity at this time.

Exactly!

You can name over 100 top players that you would like Orcollo over if they had to go to 7 regardless if Dennis had to go to 8 or 13!!!

What's 1 to 5 more balls when he gets a shot and gets going???

there is less than 5 players in the world that could go to 7 or more and maybe 20 that could go to 6. After that, it gets off the charts!!!

That's good info. Keith has decided no matter how they play, Keith wants all the breaks. And then we can go from there.

People are coming out of the woodwork to play Dennis. Everybody wants a piece of him.

When you have that many people wanting to play you it gives you bargaining power. He isn't forced to make a bad match just to get action.

Keith's got a little bargaining power himself. He's not hard up to play him. Just wants to get out of the barn and run free for a little on a field of green. Nothing more, nothing less. If the game doesn't happen, no harm, no foul. If it does happen, well, it might provide a little entertainment here on the East Coast for pool enthusiasts in the area.

I disagree. I dont want the clock choosing the shot.

I hate 5 minutes between routine shots most seasoned players recognize in seconds. Without that I dont see anyone being able to compete with Dennis.

That is overstatement, imo.

There were many examples of dennis' turns where the shot was obvious and he got to the table and pulld the trigger quickly.

Ithink it would be myopic for us to pretend we know what he considers when he looks at a given layout.

5min is too long though, i wull agree.

B-B -- Recent Accu-Stats MIH One-Pocket Invitationals have used a 60-second shot clock with one 60-sec. extension per rack. Did you watch? If so, do you feel the clock had any adverse effect(s) on the matches for either the players or the spectators?

I watched every match n the clock had almost no effect on any match besides one instance where Shane fouled and its was considered by the commentators possibly due to his lack of hearing in other words he didn't realize he didn't have an extension or something but literally it never rushed anyone on any shot especially with the one extension. I love watching one pocket at its purest form and have no problem w a 60 second shot clock it truly is plenty of time for anyone besides maybe mike wong.(no offense mike)

9 to 7 Keith break

And

10 to 6 orcollo break

Tough to handicap!
I would not like either side of this proposition.
