Have you guys at TAR figured out the price for the live stream or is it free? And if its a price will it be for the whole event?

There will be two pay per view blocks during the coverage of two days each.

Each block will cost $25 for two days and $20 for one day. The PPV block will start at 7 PM EST and run till 7 AM EST or until the action quits for the night.

From 7 AM to & 7 PM will be free every day.

We will work to schedule some great matches for the two PPV blocks. We learned last year that it is a waste of time trying to schedule anything at the Derby before you get on site.

We will be broadcasting from January 22nd thru the 31st, mostly for free, without any hard cash sponsors basically Diamond and CSI hooked us up with a couple of rooms and the internet connection so we have to generate some kind of revenue and this is what we came up with.

I think it is a pretty good value and this years coverage will be better than last years. We will have 3 (maybe 4) cameras running and be able to choose between two 9 foot and a 7 foot table.

Thanks for letting us know. We'll have the band and cheerleaders waiting for you. Naturally the crowds will be restrained behind barriers. Oh, and your limo will be parked in the same place as always. :grin-square:

Beware the Grumpy Munchkin. You have been warned.

Is she really taller than her cue, or is she standing on a chair?

Looks great! Will be awesome!

I'll be playing dice and keno all night! :D

If you are going to take some American Dollars home with you, I think you will have to give up the craps & keno & play us California suckers some one pocket (not on the TAR table).

I think Joey A will cut me loose long enough to play someone else. John Henderson

Very funny JCIN...very funny. and watchez...come on man, you've known me since I was about 12 and I haven't changed a bit!

JCIN I know you have more pictures that you want to send to me...maybe some that don't look like i'm getting ready to kill someone?

Can't wait to see everyone!

Sarah
Here is a pic of what Sarah looks like when not guarding TAR action territory. A sweet, pretty, innocent young lady......but beneath that facade a killer lurks !!!!

All kidding aside Chad and I both hope you will spend lots of time in the TAR booth kicking knowledge on the mic and hanging out with us. We like to collect little people.

Here is the layout we are working with for the 2009 Derby City Classic TAR Pit:

View attachment 85676

There will be 5 nine foot Diamonds and one seven foot Diamond. The two nine footers and the seven footer closest to the TAR booth will be streaming tables that belong to TAR. People are free to use them whenever they like of course but if your match is not scheduled with TAR on those three tables players will be subject to being moved with no notice if an action match comes up.

It would be pretty silly to travel all that way, bring all the gear, set everything up and then not be able to stream a big match because two guys happened to be playing $100 10 ahead one pocket set on one table and $5 ring game on the other. This way everyone is on the same page and there will be tables available for the big matches to happen on. The other three 9 footers in the room are wide open for whatever people want to do.

We are trying to get a portable bar in the corner as listed on the diagram that is still not final.

There is a long window in the room that we will be covering with black plastic so there will not any be nasty sunlight bothering anyone. As far as I know there is a last call around 2:30 or 3:00 AM. Not sure what the hotel policy is on people with coolers etc. but as long as there is no heat on us whatever people decide to do is on them.

We have been told that the same things that would draw heat at the Executive West will do so here. No groups of 200 people surrounding a table playing dice or pitching quarters. No keno. (Sorry Tooth). We have also heard that money on the lights is not a good idea. Despite the wink and nod from the hotel about the action being alright they are still a casino and subject to state gaming laws and the whims of their enforcement so it just makes sense to be somewhat discreet. We are new to the casino and they are new to us, so it makes sense to take it easy until we have a handle on what the environment is going to be like. I really do not think is going to be a big deal at all.

TAR will have cameras on the three front tables and we are working getting a fourth camera for interviews. We are hoping to put together enough of a crew to broadcast 24/7. We were lucky last year and I think this year will be even better.

We encourage everyone to come out and have a blast. I can't wait.

The action room is short a few tables from last year right? If I can picture it correctly, I think we are short 4 big tables. Of course I'm sure this is because of the size of the room. So, is there still going to be action in the tournament room after hours as years past? I would hate to imagine that everybody would have to fight over 5 tables to gamble on.

Edit: Short 4 big tables

There will be more 9 foot tables on site than in the past. They will be spread out over the main room and smaller rooms upstairs from the main room. All tables we be open for play 24/7 with the exception of them closing the main room down for a couple hours to clean early in the morning. Just like the Executive West.

We could have fit one more table in the action room but it would have meant only 5 feet or so between tables and not much room for people to sweat the match. The layout is not set in stone, if we get there and see there is a better way or a way to get more tables and still have room for spectators and players we will rearrange it.

Players shouldn't have too much trouble finding a table to play on after hours. If anyone has a big set and wants to play on the live stream we can schedule you a time or get you on right then if possible.

That is my understanding. I know they will close the main tournament room down to clean early in the morning but I do not know if that will stop people playing or not. There are tables all over the place upstairs. Greg wants those tables open as much as possible.

Awesome, so there will be a table somewhere open for a doubles match between fatboy and I vs you and ktown?!!> we can play for breakfast, it has to give the old buffet the 8,.

The buffet at the new place is solid. I had it when I was there a few months ago. If you can get everyone in the same place I am down. I happen to know KTown gives Shane the 7 but he has been on the stall waiting for a score like this.

Well, my partner is on the reverse stall, with his talks of running 15 in 1 pocket and what not, but hanging out with massey this weekend I heard has done wonders for his boot shot game.
