If that were the case I know it wouldn't be Mickleson that said that, it would be Tiger Woods without question. He has thrown clubs, F Bombs and showed bad sportmanship over and over again, but if he's not in the tournament the ratings plummet!!! When he's not in the tournament, nobody cares..They don't watch him to see him throw a club or curse but watch because he is a great player and has a colorful personality and is an exciting player to watch...When John recently gambled with Parica, John waited around for hours for Jose to show up because Jose's backer left him stranded. They were suppose to play for $5000. Parica finally showed up but only had around 2k. John said, I totally understand these things happen and they played for the 2k. John beat him pretty easily and Jose wasn't happy and proceeded to tell John he had a 2,000,000 dollar home and he wanted to play more soon and could get the money. John said I have know doubt you can get it but I live in a trailer and I would like to play for $20,000, can you make that happen? That isn't being mean or even cocky, he just wanted him to know that when you come play me bring money..He was just reacting to the moment and making a colorful statement. Look at how many people hate Strickland and his whining. Have you ever went to one of his matches!!! Crowds of people flock around the table he's on and couldn't care less about the kindly and proper players across the room playing their match............They want to watch a great player that's probably either going to destroy his opponent, blow up at his opponent or go crazy wearing more clothes than a homeless man with all his weights and just a lot of pure craziness. They love his game, but it's the "we don't know what's going to happen" in the Earl match syndrome that brings them. Keith McCready didn't have a huge following because he was the greatest living player to ever walk. Don't get me wrong he beat all the best at one time and could really play with a high gear, but I believe he had a huge following because people knew they were going to be entertained and get a ton of Keithisms during his match and probably get quite a few laughs along with his run out 9 ball. His personality is what got him the huge draw. Minnesota Fats wasn't a great player but had a way bigger following than Mosconi because of his personality. John might snivel, make you laugh, play a phenominal series of shots, but usually what ever happens it has some entertainment value. If I ever saw him shark someone to purposely make them miss I would say that is totally wrong, but I know he isn't about that, at least not intentionally.......
