Dippy is back

Could be wrong but Dippy doesn't strike me as a Dumper. He doesn't need the money and even with the wild spots that he asks for and gets, he plays to win.

Dippy better player than you guys think

Dippy came to New Orleans with Ronnie and played a pretty good player a 10,000 set of even one pocket, played absolutely perfect and won the set easily, made no errors, missed no makable shots, broke the balls perfectly and I was one of the fools who bet on the local (C.B.). Ronnie has a tough game 12-4 but is so road savvy he might get the stew.

He should be one pocket savvy by now since he has paid the most for the best one lessons available.

If you can't learn one pocket by getting 15:4 then you can't learn one pocket.

For those who don't know much about him, let's say he's sheer entertainment. He lives by his own code and is a wild and crazy guy. Literally. To the max.

...and he's banned from AZ - which is really too bad.

greed is a powerful, controlling factor.

Dippy lost a lot of money and any gambler would like to see him in a poolroom. I understand most people on this site are not gamblers ,so, they really don't understand.

Yes, I'd say any gambler in their right mind would really like Dippy to be around. Some people's presence encourages people that might be nits to actually get up and gamble.

I saw this in several instances where Dippy was either playing or hanging out. If someone doesn't like his action, then simply stay out of it, very simple, very easy. This is easier "said than done"....greed is a powerful, controlling factor.

There you go with all the numbers again kid. I'm impressed.

I told him he could but $1,000 to $100,000/rack playing 8ball. He ducked me, a couple years ago. I took a pic of a bank receipt with over $5,000,000 in the account, to show proof of funds. of course i'd play him. I wouldnt play banks even. Otherwise he can play what ever he likes, he knows me, he is a smart guy, got no problems with him or his action. Hopefully someday we play.

Im not sitting on that much cash now, i bought property but i'd still bet upto 50K/game no problem

He knows lots of banks for his speed, he aint helpless or dumb. He lays that act down good. IMO he don't rattle either , but I'll still play 8ball

He also has excellant end game strategy. Learned it from Leil Gay of Cleveland,Ohio ( Past US Open one pocket Champion).

Correct

I played at Northfield Billiards just about everyday from 1998 to 2005 when they closed their doors. Leil ( JR ) was the houseman and Dippy Dave was in their playing everyday if he was in town.If Dippy Dave was playing he was gambling. He IS smart and picks up things very fast.I saw in a post by CJ Wiley that he asked CJ if he were a sucker or a Hustler. Trust me he is no sucker. He may be looser with his cash now since hitting it big with Poker, but he is no sucker.I say you were right on about him learning a lot from JR.

you don't have to play very good if all you have to make is 4 balls and the other guy has to make 15 or more. I never played a game of one pocket in my life and I could make 4 balls before anyone could make 18. I

You can probably get whatever you want bet on that if true. Bear in mind he's playing top pros. Looking at him play, I would say he's a "B" player.

Doesn't really matter who he is playing. With that type of spot I would just do the 2nd ball break and crush it. I make one I in the corner I am out the majority of time.

Stay anonymous my friend. Because if you let us know your identity and you are not a known player and you are willing to bet VERY HIGH then you can get lots and lots and lots of action.

People who don't play high level one pocket have so little understanding of how powerful high level one pocket is. I play low mid-level one pocket and I would be scared to take the spots Dippy is taking for the amounts he plays for.

When a high level one pocket player forces you to sell out and then he runs 10-12 balls on you and locks you up again with him now needing 6 and you still needing 4 you will understand. Because when that happens to you your arm will turn to jelly. And if you don't know the moves at all which you won't having no one pocket experience the good player will torture you like a cat tortures a crippled mouse. You can't imagine the traps they have, can't imagine it.

You might THINK you know something about one pocket watching two champions battle it out but you are watching two people lock horns who know all the moves AND can execute them. When a champion plays a banger it's not even close at any time ever. I used to think the same as you, no one could possibly ever give up that weight and win.

Well, my opinion is that if you're a B player then you have barely a shot against the top level one pocket players if you honestly have never played one pocket.

Didn't know JR stuck around Ohio that long. I used to work at Rack n Roll in Mentor, but moved to NC in 95. Last time I was up there I stopped at Frank Zummo's place and saw Tulio who told me just about all the old area players moved away.

he aint a sucker, he mite seem like one, but I dont see it like that. he was smart enough not to play me, where he could really win something-if he could win. right now i'm not so sure i could win to be honest, i'm just not sure-i'll get into all that later.:(
