So, you're 25 years old and have the market cornered on knowing what to do.That makes perfect sense to me.And you have a way with words ,really, as you so eloquently expressed your feeling of what a bad production co. Accustats is. You handled that like the true professional that you are.I would like to have your business card,to keep you in mind for anything that may come up, that I might think you would qualify for. I'll put it in my don't forget about me file It's not often that you run across someone as polished as you at a young age.

In regard to your suggestion to Grady ,to qualify on the table not with your mouth,is something that maybe you should practice. Grady has qualified many times, unlike you. Grady and I go round and round at times, but he certainly deserved to be invited to The World Pool Championships. I would like to say that I appreciated your post, but I can't . It was in very poor taste. And maybe some day i'll have the opportunity to tell you how I really feel about you. Have a not so nice day. Bill Incardona

Tap-Tap - Tap from the man with the magical voice that makes Accu-Stats well worth the price.

Yes, I should grow up. You, you my friend....are very mature

Cleary,

I think it should go without saying that pool has been in an odd state for quite some time now. Devoting a lot of money into advertising, production costs and personel can be crippling if the product isn't a success. The companies involved in pool aren't as diverse as a company such as coca-cola where a loss in one venture can be absorbed by the success in another. If Accu-stats spent a million on production and everybody youtubed it, they would go bankrupt in a New York minute. Even though we may criticize their style from time to time, there is a general understanding that these are the parameters they're confined to and we forgive them for it.

Regarding Grady, personally I do not know why he wasn't invited to the Straight Pool Championships and I'm not going to bother reading this thread to find out. I do know it would have been nice to see him there. I once had the pleasure of watching Grady play Allison Fisher at Amsterdam Billiards a few years back and was rather entertained by him. He's a great player, a great personality and it'd be nice to see him in more events. Part of the very reason why so many are interested in bringing straight pool back isn't to get all these famous 9-ball players to play a different game but to get a lot of the players we all watched 10 years ago back in the limelight against these reigning champs.

Ill play you $.50 a game, race to 3....and Ill give you the 4 ball. Just fly on out to new york and we can play.

Now that's cheap, gotta admit, that takes cojones to offer that one up...:D

You and Grady are without a doubt the best pool commentators.

I love Grady's commentary when I can get it. He really knows the game and can relate as a player, not a knocker. I think that is why alot of the accustats videos are sought after rather than ESPN stuff by real players.

I would like to see some long standing annual tournaments similar to golf where previous winners are invited to play, if they wish, until they die. I think to watch a former legend play, whether or not they get knocked out in 2 matches, would be great if they chose to show up.
I haven't agreed with Grady on all of his posts, but neither do I agree with everyone else's all the time, but I agree on this.

Cleary, you are a nit. Go change your Pampers and learn how to stand and make a bridge. My 9 year old will give you the last 2 in 9-ball, if you even know what that means!

I do love Accu-stats, but the commentary in some is pretty bad. The ones I have seen with The Beard and Incardona are very good. The problem I have with the commentary is many times they are just guessing on what is going to be done on the table. When I comes to Incardona and Grady it always seems they are arguing about the shot choices. In my opinion, not that it matters, I do not care for Grady's commentary on the Accu-Stats Videos. He never seems to get it right.

If Grady was replaced by Jimmy Wych, then can we have an explanation why?

Blah blah blah blah

Yadda yadda yadda...

all this Cleary bashing has gotten away from the point of the thread... who gives a F about what some dude thinks about Accu Stat......whatever...he loses that fight..on to the next thing..

Why would you gripe about somebody throwing a tourney?...If I understand correctly, one could qualify for this event....correct? If that is so then go get your Q...and play..or dont...but why come here and complain about one of the most proactive and productive outfits in Mens pool today? ....

Just saying...............

I just want to say to all my friends on here. This is the first time I ever got mad at anyone on AZ. A couple of other guys have said some pretty stupid things on here and woofed at me, but that never bothered me.

But when this guy went off on Pat Fleming and Accu-Stats, I just about lost it. Pat is one of the people I most respect in the Pool world for many reasons, only one of which is his video production company.

I have known Pat since he was primarily a top ranked Straight Pool player. I know him to be a man of high integrity and honor. And one dedicated to bettering the sport of pool for all to enjoy. For those of you who are new here, Pat devised the Accu-Stats rating system for pool players that is still the most accurate one ever created IMO. This was prior to his video business.

I could not stand by and give this "clown" any breathing room after his first insult ridden post. And as long as he choses to post on here, I will be on his ass until I hear a sincere and meaningful apology to Pat Fleming. "Buddy", you were way out of line!

Jay, no need to be appolagetic. This was about the same caliber of someone attacking YOU on here, they would have their hands full.

What a pleasure it is to be able to hear the true opinions of Grady, Cardone, Jay Helfert, Freddy the Beard on these forums. Thanks guys for sharing, and not abandoning us all due to the few power-nits ;)

Cleary's posts are so ridiculous, I wondered if he was really that dumb, or just trying to incite.

I always find it hard to believe whenever I hear anyone say anything bad about Grady's commentary. I've probably watched a couple hundred Accu-Stats videos, and I think he is #1. He reguarly points out nuances and strategy that most don't. He doesn't just say "what" but also "how" and "why". He is open to other options and politely debates it with the other commentary (quite often Billy). He speaks clearly, with an educated vocabulary, is polite, and has a sense of humour. For what it's worth, I also like Billy, Danny D, Buddy Hall, and Jay on commentary.

Not to mention, his history of tournament success speaks for itself. His history of running his own tournaments speaks for itself. His history of sharing knowledge both for free or otherwise via instruction (and instructional videos) speaks for itself.

In case anyone is interested in Cleary's work as a motion graphic artist I found this reel http://andrewcleary.com/motion/.
I am not sure what motion graphic art is but it seems to put pictures into motion.
It looks like his work might be pretty good but I don't know how to judge.

This is off topic, but is anyone having trouble seeing photos and/or smiley faces today? All of mine are white boxes with a red X in the middle of them.

Woke up this morning, this thread had 1,200 hits and was a few pages. By afternoon, it has 5,500-plus hits and 12 pages.

I can't recall a thread multiplying as fast as this one before, but I my be wrong.

I wonder what the fastest-growing thread in AzBilliards history is. A flame thread such as this or a real-time live update tournament thread?

Everything is loading up fine on my screen...

I thought the same thing with the way this thread grew today... I do believe it is the fastest growing thread since the "Sweet,Sweet Marissa" thread from a few years ago in the NPR forum.

If it makes any of you feel better, Im sorry to attack your friends over at Accustats. My comment about them was out of line and could have been put better.

I dont feel that I attacked Grady...because I didnt try to, but if he is bent out of shape, Im sorry.

I have the right to my opinion and this is a forrum...so this is the best place for your opinions, so Im sorry you dont see things my way.

I really dont care what you think of me. Im not trying to be anything in pool. I love to play, I love to watch, I love to learn. Im not trying to prove myself as a player.

But anyway, Im sorry if I hurt anyones feelings.

We were all young and dumb at one time. It took a lot of courage to apologize, the way you have. So there just may be hope for you yet! :D

If this is an example of his best work, he has a long way to go. I know one thing. Our "amateur" graphic artist Corvette is a heckuva lot funnier.

I've seen good graphics and this guy is just fair. Pretty basic stuff on here. Not bad for a kid. How old is he? 14? Oh okay.

I respect the hell out of you for sticking around and having the class to post that. However, you would have saved yourself a whole hell of a lot of trouble if you had said that 9 pages ago...

My .02

1. i agree that many matches would be lost if accu stats was not here.

2. Accu stats charges WAY to much for a match on DVD.

3. Accu stats charges WAY to much for a match on DVD.

4. I'm glad other people are getting into the filming of pool matches. I hope compatition provides better, more, and cheaper dvd's.

I don't think the prices are all that unreasonable. Pretty tough to see really cheap DVDs when you don't have a major studio behind you. While the production costs are relatively low, this isn't a high volume operation.

The thing to do is join their monthly club. Knocks off four or five bucks a DVD or tape.

Cleary,
You are right...everyone is entitled to their opinion. Thats what makes this forum so great. We get to hear opinions on all sorts of topics involving pool. But, you have to admit, if someone had come on here and said things about you the way you said them about Accu-stats, you would have been a little upset too. I know I feel that Pat Fleming and his team have done alot to help this sport grow by their productions. I have learned alot of valuable information about games such as one pocket that I would probably never learned otherwise. I credit Accu-stats taping of matches as well as the knowledgeable commentators such as Grady, Billy and many others. If anyone thinks they can do a better job, then get out there and do it. I feel that Pat Fleming and his team have paid their dues and have earned respect from the pool world. JMO.
