Does a Forum Member's posts irritate you?

There's a similar feature in VBulletin, I think.

There's a feature in the User CP (Control Panel) that allows you to put any AZB member on your PERSONAL ignore list.

In the upper left hand corner of this screen click on User CP and then go down to the lower left hand side of your screen and click on Edit Ignore List. That will bring you to another screen where you may type in the irritant's screen name (EXACTLY AS IT APPEARS IN THEIR POSTS) and from then on you won't see their posts unless someone replies to their post and leaves the original irritant's post in their reply.

It's not perfect but it could save some flaming, some piling-on and other vigilante whining.

This post isn't meant to silence anyone or to stifle crticism but is merely a solution to a problem that seems to grate on some members' nerves.

I have EVERYONE on ignore but you JoeyA...so really, its just me and you in this wonderful forum.....why the hell isnt there anything in the For Sale section? :confused: I feel like I am missing out on some great deals

Not exactly on topic but related... I always felt it was tacky to attack other forum members with one's sig. It's basically stirring the pot and antagonizing one guy with every single post you make, without any thought or effort.

I've read this forum for a while and only one, maybe two names come to mind who ever truly annoyed me... and it wasn't enough that I want to taunt them or get into some trolling contest with them. I just let my eyes skim over their posts if I am 100% convinced they have nothing useful or valid to say. And even then I'll sometimes read 'em just in case.

It's not so much that I'm worried about protecting the thin skin of someone who's 'victimized' by a sig attack. I think the sig attack itself is a sign of thin skin. You have to get awfully butt-hurt and offended to make attacking one guy part of your permanent "posting identity". Basically the attacker is permanently tying himself to the other guy in the minds of his readers. He takes on the role of tweedledee by trying to make the other guy look like tweedledum.

The only posters that stand out to me are the especially good ones. The ones who occasionally post something really stupid or insensitive... I'm not gonna waste time giving them special attention. The average, below average, and bad all just get lumped together in the 'skim' category.

The only guy's posts that really bother me are those from The Gingerbread Man. Every time I try to make a game he comes running by and messes things up for me. How can I get rid of this annoying pest? Does anyone have a cookie cutter I could borrow?
