Dumping & Catching - Equally as bad?

I guess from a moral standpoint, they're equally as bad.
I just think it's easier on your conscience to receive, so I think the slight edge for the a-hole award goes to the guy dumping his backer.
It takes two to tango, though. I'm not saying the receiver isn't an a-hole too, because he or she is!

An old saying I heard a lot as a kid. "Both need some sense knocked into em".

Am I missing something here. When you bet with the dump aren't you part of the heist? "Might be some business going on" is the same as knowing there is a dump or you wouldn't of heard anything.

The scenario I'm referring to is if someone in Galveston called me and said I should bet on player x because they heard there might be some business going on or that player y owed player x some money, etc...

It's just like if someone goes to a NFL practice and sees the starting QB with a limp or grimacing in pain everytime he throws and then betting on the other team. Sometimes the info turns out good and other times it doesn't.

I have no problem betting on one side of the coin in this scenario. If this info is bad and I lose my money then it was my fault for doing so.

The fact is then you don't know for sure if there is a dump going on or not and therefore you are betting on a rumor. Thank you for clearing that up.

yes, I would definitely not bet if the person dumping or catching called and said, "hey I'm dumping this match, you should bet on it".

In fact, I'm not on a "call me" level with anyone who would do that anyway.

Just educated gambling is what I was talking about.

It is also much easier. That is why I do this instead of dumping. Actually, I play so bad, dumping never gets talked about, because nobody in their right mind would ever back me.
 
All of these posts about dumping, including Houmatroy's- they are all inspired by a certain match the other day at Galveston--right? I only saw the tail end, but I've had my suspicians about one of the players ever since his involvement in a recently recorded challenge match I bought online here at azb.

Can't help it. Those who have been dumped before--me-- have an intense, intense emotion on the subject and exposing dumpers carries very little guilt. By the way, 99% of those reading my post shouldn't have a clue whom I'm referring to.

I was offered a dump a few times

I was offered a dump a few times many years ago. I just laughed and told them I was gonna bust them and take it all, why the hell should I share? Nobody that came to me wanting to dump had a chance in hell of beating me especially after I knew they didn't want to risk playing me on the square.

I usually wash my hands and face before what I expect to be an extended battle. One brain trust followed me into the bathroom to try to arrange a dump. I stepped out the bathroom and walked straight over to the backer and told them their boy just tried to dump on them, you still like this game?

I got to sit back and watch a hell of a funny show and I made a friend for years, the backer. The shooter was a wee bit unhappy but weasels aren't much on anything but running their mouths.

I will say this, if anyone is much above banger level and can keep their mouths shut there is no way to know if a dump happened or a couple of bad shots. I'd be willing to bet that over 3/4 of the matches that have folks screaming dump weren't.
