E-Cigarette Ban in Los Angeles effective today...

FWIW, the secondhand E-Cigarette smoke/vaopr makes me feel worse than secondhand (tobacco) cigarette smoke

Really?...Find that hard to believe...wait ,I guess it is a big world..you probably have 10 e smokers blowing it right at you.:) what a load of crap.

Or your fat wife's terrible B.O.

Oh yeah. What about those wives that can rip em off real good while sleeping.

I always thought that girls were not supposed to fart.

Tried an E Smoke. Made me choke worse than a real smoke.

Of course, May is one year non smoker for me. Other than the odd 400 or so cigars that I smoke. But I don't inhale.

Smoke is smoke. I did not quit to have it blown in my face by someone else. The manufacturers could not care less if if kills your lungs or mine.

Canada has the cigarette thing figured out 12-15 Bucks a pack, and tey make you pay in Cigarette Tax what your extra healthcase cost will be when you buy your cofin nails.

Arizona is woring on it on e-cigarette law to keep em under the same laws a real cigarette. In Arizona most Brand Name Smoke are like at a minimum 6-7 bucks a pack...expensive hobby.

Hilarious. Now, are we talking about the second-hand smoke a young child inhales when in a car with a no-nothing asshole of an adult that barely has a window cracked and is chain smoking cigarettes? Or are we talking about the bullshit Truth commercials' "second-hand smoke" where some dude who occasionally walked by the cigarette smoking area on his way into work now doesn't have a throat and can't walk? Or maybe the guy who tried a cigarette once when he was 16 is now due to die in two months from (obviously) cigarette-induced lung cancer. There is a massive industry for inventing second-hand smoking problems that make no rational sense, not unlike the massive industry created to stop man-made global warming. Now that industry is simply turning against the alternative in order to stay relevant.

My grandmother chain-smoked from when she was 13 until she was 91 and died of a blood clot in her brain, never had cancer. Amazing that a couple years of walking through a cloud of smoke can ruin a dancer's life in his early 30' (or whatever BS they paid some guy with genetic cancers to say). Vaping must really be taking off for people to somehow experience throat problems when the most I've ever seen are four or five people tops using e-cigarettes whose vapor dissolves into nothing after a couple seconds in a pool hall. Must be the banana-flavoring.

Mysterious!

Funny, but sadly true. I guess some people are sitting right next to someone using a e-cig and getting right in their face and inhaling it as soon as they blow it out, since it does disappear in 2 or 3 seconds. Some people will complain regardless of the subject!

Another new issue is that people are using marijuana based oils in the vapor so they can smoke in plain view. There is no odor but still has the THC or whatever chemical is in it. Creates lots of legal issues there too. Some of the ecigs/ vapers can be reprogrammed to do different chemicals thus creating whole sets of legal issues for law enforcement.

Yep, Bruce has it about right. That for cigs and 20 bucks for a 6 pack at the off sale.

Thats what the Canadian Government calls it, Sin Taxes. You guys can dread the day that your Gov figures that one out.

Even tho I quit smoking, I still chew a bit of Skoal. One tin of Skoal costs me $27. The last time my wife went to Minneapolis for the Black Friday sales, she brought me back 2 sleeves of 5 tins. $20 and change per sleeve of 5.

Can you actually believe it.

I hope they ban them everywhere. I just moved to Farmington Nm and I have not seen one yet.
Maybe i should open a store here. lol

I told you all in previous threads that this had NOTHING to do with your health or with second hand smoke.

This proves it....it's only about power over us. Here is a free market SOLUTION to the second-hand smoke problem, for god's sake, and it, too, is being squelched for the same reason...ahem.

The opening scene in the color of money is of what? I thought it was appropriate.

I'm from an area that has small town after small town every 15 miles down the road and when smoking was outlawed, banned, illegal, almost death threat treatment to people who have done something legal for decades, century's...... now have been viewed as possible murder suspects as a whole. Wow, just made me realize that in reality, all the folks who jumped down the throats of these little town bars and little town Legion Clubs, VFW Clubs, Eagle Clubs and so forth by the non smoking public ( which is their right and I have no problem with ), but, for the most part and I mean very highly MOST PART, these same people never did support these establishments to begin with and then when the smokers were banned and started to have house parties on Friday's and Saturdays in their garages, which forced the establishments to lay off workers, part timers who made extra money for their families as cooks, servers, part time bartenders and floor cleaners and so forth all lost jobs. Many little places closed for business. The end result. The same folks who never would go to a bar or club before, STILL DON'T GO and support what's left. However, I have seen that these same folks who voiced their mighty opinion to help shut down middle class american businesses are now seen at the neighbors garage on Friday nights and Saturday nights while 70 % of the people there are SMOKING and if I don't see these people there, I see them at the casino's where smoking is permitted.
our state received a couple of hundred million from tobacco companies for a settlement and I asked a senator that maybe they should offer each smoker a couple of hundred thousand dollars each, but, they would have to sign a release that they would not receive medical treatment for tobaco related treatment. As the senator lit a cig, he said he would sign !! but he surly was not going to introduce that bill as he would be afraid of losing his job just like the hundreds of ex employees now out of jobs due to the people who just need something to complain about.
I have found out that people who smoke around me are very aware of their choice to smoke and are respectful not to blow smoke my way. They walk outside and away from buildings and dispose of the butts in cans or receivers. I also find that the couple of hundred thousand of people living in our state who are on some free program one way or another, are the rudest people I witness. Lastly, I held the door for a wheel chair pool player last month to let him outside and wheeled over to the others who were smoking. I found out out he lost the use of his legs during service to our country. A great young man as I ended up talking with him later in the tournament and he wanted to go outside for a smoke, and this time, and it was amazing, he wheeled that chair in such a way so darn fast, he held the door for me !! and of course stated something like he respected his elder's and I said to him, yeah whatever, try using old next time. Here's a kid, now a life in a chair after upholding our rights. What was his beef ?, nothing.... Lesson Learned For The Day.

Last October, was in California and went down to the boardwalk and chatted with a guy, a gal and nice person who I could not tell if they were a guy or a gal, well chested, but deep voice, didn't matter we laughed our butt off having a great old time. Then walked the boardwalk and some film crew was doing filming of a gal walking the stores wearing what I would call a Annie Oakly western getup?? A guy was trying to hold a microphone on a long pole while trying to carry and aim a plastic saucer looking thing and I just walked up and grabbed the microphone and walked and carried it like he did. At the end of the boardwalk, the dude with the camera saw me holding the microphone and started to give me the third degree ????? for helping. I put my hand up after about his tenth word and told him he had one option, to just thank me for helping out during a bad situation. He just stood there stunned, like......... he has never thought of that in his life. Lord........ can't wait to get back to the corn fields I thought.
LOL Sorry to ramble on and on....... but..... I find that America would rather take the short cut on issues instead of attempting to go the extra mile and think about reality.

My experience with "most" smokers is that they are nasty, blow smoke in your face, throw butts on the ground slobs.

Stupid.

The whole point of banning actual cigarettes in most public places was due to 2nd hand smoke, and the harmful effects it may have.

Curious to know what harmful effects e-cigs have on non-users.

That's the problem atm, the health risks aren't known yet. The product is to new to tell. The biggest thing I see is the small microscopic metal of the heating element you're slowly breathing in as it slowly degrades. Which shouldn't be seen in second hand smoke.

So, really what your saying is, Florida people are rude ?? Not sure why you just didnt' give your honest opinion to the forum instead of attached to my opinion. I am sure there are slobs everywhere, but, guess I would be shocked if I arrived in your part of Florida. That's to bad if folks take it that much for granted in your area.

I don't think anybody is attacking you, only stating that your experience is no the way it is for everyone else.

Oh, and the microphone you held on a stick? The 'boom', I believe. It has to be carried by a union member and you had as much business helping there as you would running the cash register at a grocery store.

In fact, you probably got someone fired... But thanks for helping.

I travel all over the US and out of the country, that is my experience EVERYWHERE in the US. The reason I attached it to your post is it seemed like you tried to make smokers out to be saints.

That is correct. E-cigs don't even generate smoke. It is the same thing as the artificial smoke machines that are used by bands and shows for decades and there has never been a single instance of it harming anyone in anyway. You don't hear about anyone banning those. They are the same thing.

Like you said. It has nothing to do with health. It is about a bunch of liberal progressive control freaks shoving their beliefs up everybodys nose again. Cigarettes were only the beginning. Once they learned how to use the government to impose their belief system onto others there will be no end to it. May as well start digging the graves. That's where it always ends up when their kind gets into power.

Florida is 12% native population. Everyone else is from the northeast and yes, they are extremely rude.
