Earl calling out Joe Rogan

Mark:

If this match takes place I will donate a cue for you guys to raffle or sell to be added to the winners charity of choice! I think that this would be great for pool worlld and fans of Joe's!

I need to get on Earl's charity list.

"Huge" is a relative term (just ask my wife :)). This has the potential to be the largest ppv pool event to date. Why? Joe's fan base is pretty big so hopefully this will be sent to them all - If this is done right where they can see the background of why it's taking place: a link to a clip of Earl being Earl, and the link to Joe being Earl, and description of what this event would be like along with an explaination, and with the promise of both Earl & Joe being Earl...

I believe there will be a pretty nice percentage of Joe's fans that will tune in. They get to be entertained and get introduced to world class pool. Sounds good to me.

Dave

I agree with you, besides Joe called Earl out,How was Earl suppose to react ?He couldnt get to Joe any other way,Joe is a comedian Earl couldnt get on camera and pull off a Joe impersonation so he reacted as I think he should,I think the money need to go to charity ,maybe some pool related tragedy of the winners choice,It should be a friendly contest for a good cause ,I dont think Joe should be above it,Earl is a hall of famer

I was thinking about this, wondering who would be the best person to set a handicap for a match like this? The person that comes to mind the most is Jay Helfert. I would be happy to let Jay set this up the way he feels is fair.

Hey Joe,
I think that is a great idea.
Jay knows what would be fair.
I think it's a great thing your doing this for charity.
I'm glad you don't feel obliged to play Earl for your money, just because you did a little impression of him. I'm sure you have done many other people in the public eye, and they didn't bark at you to gamble.
I hope you guys have fun with this, and it isn't taken to seriously.
Only one winner... The people who really need the help.
If this brings some attention to pool, thats a bonus..
Best,
Ken

If that's the case, then Jay will have to modify the line he originally posted tongue in cheek.

Jay would be my first choice to handicap this match (of course, Rogan already has a handicap - he worked with Andy Dick; I don't know if anyone ever gets over that :p).

Advice to Joe Rogan

Just in case the match starts going Earl's way, you may need to have a few arrows ready, just in case. If the crowd gets behind Earl too much, you have to confront them, take them on, ala Earl. Tell them they would make good 'insurgents' as Earl once did, or ask them if they have ever been 'a household name'.

And, if Earl somehow comes out on top, study the following for your post match interview:

Really, I know you don't need any help, and I'm looking forward to watching this match. I'm a big Earl fan too, as well as a Rogan fan. Can't wait to watch this.

Joe-first off-you nailed the Earl impression.

I haven't stayed up with all the back and forth-but I hope this can come off-particulary for charity. A send up/roast/parody within the backdrop of a semi-serious match would be great-and you are the guy that knows both worlds. As a competition, a reasonable spot negotiated by Jay sounds right. Re the anything goes thing-full body contact might have to be negotiated out in exchange for something that goes your way.

I'm hopeful that this can happen. Joe-do you have SAG/ AFTRA issues to overcome on this kind of gig for charity?

I really think Earl could have a barrel of laughs in something like this as well.

Lastly-love your work.

Take care

Joe please remember that Jay is getting older and not reaslly all there anymore. Sad but true. However depending on the day he may give u the world or mayt make u give Earl the 7. Who knows but if thats what u think do whatever man. Maybe we should play for a joint :) put that in the middle :) Well I am sure we are gonna have alot of fun when this eventually happens. But Joe what do you think is a fair spot out of curiosity?

Joe, I'm not sure if you guy's need to match up or not, but I sure would love to see part 2 of the Earl interview.
I cried laughing so hard, and Max didn't get upset. I'm great friends with Earl, but you have to admit, that was funny.

Max wouldn't get upset...

Max is a great guy. I honestly can't think of what anyone with half a conscience would do to be able to get Max pissed off...

Max is a super nice guy, boy don't we all wish we could be as friendly and respectful
as Max is everyday. He is one of a kind, and don't play to bad either. LOL

I've been waiting for this...
Now comes the crying about the spot..
Come on.. Earl is playing a B player..
Someone is acting like this is a big action match..
Remember CHARITY..

WOW...
Throwing insults at Jay now..
What has he done to you or Earl?
Because me might make a fair game??
I guess image doesn't matter anymore.

Joe, Make these guys happy.. Play a World Champion even.
Better Yet, Just send Earl a Check and get it over with..
