Earl Vs Shane Bar Table, who is gonna win?

He can't hang with him in a "regular" game. He needs the 10' edge. That's what earl likes to shoot on, and as I understand it's what he practices. Like I said I like to watch Earl, but he's definitely a second tier pro at best. It's impressive, but he's not on the same plain as SVB anymore.

I agree and will take a look at it after I get the call today. Those 9 ball racks can go pretty fast on a BB. I don't think either of them play slow.

Earl has already got 2 practice stroke in before he gets completely down in position. Johnnyt
 
So am I correct that Earl won on the 10 ft and Shane won on the 9ft so this will be the decider on a BB?

I would not bet against Earl in any format, he has too high of a gear, but on a barbox I give an edge to Shane.
 
GOOD NEWS! Shane and Earl are 100% commited to the match this match will be held in Helena Montana on August 2nd, 3rd and 4th. I am going to start another thread to announce it once I get some other details together. WHOO HOO this should be a good one "THE DECIDER"

I think you should seriously consider doing last pocket 8 ball, and doing 15 ball rotation.

Standard 8 and 9 ball will be WAY to easy.

Hey Justin, I totally hear where you are coming from but please remember I would hope to be able to sell the PPV to the masses, not just the pool purists. The last pocket 8-Ball I think would be a nice twist to that set that the arverage player will have an interest in but Rotation I think for some reason will lose alot of people interest. Now I could be VERY wrong so I will ask around a little but I would need a very big and enthusiastic response to go in that direction. Again, I have to look at this also from the point of re couping some of the money with PPV and so it has to sell.
 
Who would you pick in a break contest on the bar table? That's what this will be,lol. Wish I could watch it,it'll be fun for sure!! John B.

I think last pocket 8 ball would work for sure. I hear you on the rotation. I'm just trying to think what would make it a little less of a break contest. Maybe do 9 on the spot and they have to kick into the rear ball... LOL.

Either way I will be watching! Maybe even be there in person if it can work out.

PPV......8 ball and I am definitely in. 15 ball rotation definitely not in. 9 or 10 ball maybe, maybe not.

I think that (imo) 8 Ball is more interesting for, and would appeal to, the huge number of league players that do not generally support the usual PPV product. An 8 ball match like this, on the same Bar Boxes that are used in most leagues, can expand the existing PPV base.

SVB would. Earl would have Shane's horse-baby, if they played even 1p.

Sure Earl is 'pretty good' at 1p, he was arguably the best pool player in history, so he isn't pool-retarded. Hell, there was talk of him playing pyramid for the first time recently and that he was pretty good at that too.

Well 8-Ball race to 25 is in for sure along with 10 ball and 9 ball at this point. I just realized that I need to go back to a scoring system that will determine the winner since its 3 sets and I want all 3 to be played so I think the way to go is to just give a point per rack and that way if after day 2 we have lets say 8 ball on the last day (Not sure) there will be 25 points still available to win. So if day one goes 9 ball score 30 to 25 to Shane and then the 10 ball goes 30 to 25 also to shane then he is ahead by 10 racks So Earl would need to come with it and beat SVB by 10 racks or more. make sense?

Johnny, this is a great question my friend. I am going to say that it will probably be a Valley. I would like to have a Diamond if possible but getting one there and set up isn't going to be easy unless I can get Diamond in as a sponsor but i think that will be too much for them. I do have a potential sponsor though who doeas all the gaming for the place and has helped us everytime we have been there and I believe they only have Valley.

Just wanted to add, the last set was "alternate" break. Earl does not have the break that Shane has, so this was a equalizer for Earl.

On the bar box, they will both run out like water goes down hill. Basically, it will be a break contest and I'm leaning toward Shane.

The only game that should be alternate break is 1 Pocket.
