On a brunswick too!! It actually wasn't too bad effectively, efren was suppesed to lose that game anyway.
For every time I've seen that happen at pool.....It looks like it's time for instant replays in major tournaments or have refs grow a set and make the right call on something like that. Only in pool do you have crap like this happen. Johnnyt
Not surprised you got out there.
Actually, if I remember correctly, the after-tournament details of that situation were that the "pocket cam" had come loose from the back of the pocket, and was leaning forward a bit. When the ball entered the pocket with any kind of force, it bounce off the loosened pocket cam, at such an angle that it re-entered the table surface instead of dropping downwards into the pocket's bucket.
Any way you slice it, that's a heck of a way to turn the table over to your opponent... who turns the table back over to you with the same issue!

The pocket-cam, is retarded...![]()
I'm curious what your talking about? Why is there a need for a replay and what kind of call can the refs make? The ball didn't go in the pocket, you lose your turn, simple as that. It's not like the ref could be like...oh that ball should have went I'll let you shoot again.
BUT THE BALL DID GO IN THE POCKET... it actually went ALL THE WAY IN, and just got spit out due to faulty equipment, not due to any error the player made. The ref should have had to reset the ball and allow Kaplan to re-shoot the shot.

And what if the ball popped out again? Let him shoot it one more time?
Ok, I've got the perfect solution: Everyone gets seven tries. If you can't get the ball to stay down after seven tries, you go sit down.![]()

Point is, the ball went in, and due to no fault of the player shooting, the ball popped back out due to a faulty pocket. Take a look at golf, if a bird or a squirrel moves or takes the ball away, the ball is replaced and the player must re-shoot the shot. Not the player's fault, so why should they be punished? I think that is fair. Same should apply to pool.
Kaplan was left a shot he had to hit hard to get shape with, the ball went in and spit out. Efren was left with a similar shot that he had to hit hard to get shape, the ball went in and spit out. What if Efren left the same shot that had to be hit hard again, should Kaplan have to shoot it knowing it's going to spit it out again? Fix the pocket and let him re-shoot it.
Honestly don't you guys think they both hit it too hard?
