I haven't seen a thread on this video, so here you go...

Efren's first four shots were amazing how he buried Grady in the stack. Poor Grady...he was playing behind the entire rack. Though there was one instant where Efren sold out, but Grady wasn't able to capitalize. You even see Efren sharking Grady by standing in his line of sight.

Does anyone know when and where this took place?

Thanks to muffindeingles for posting this on youtube, and to Colin for linking it to you cue-tv. BTW Colin, the direct link to the youtube address on the cue-tv page is wrong.

Thanks for posting. I'll have to check out Colin's other media..

Don't know where it was played though..

Was a great game. I LOVE watching Efren play any game, especially 1h. Frozen in the strack shots were amazing. Grady is obviously no slouch (I like to watch him play too) - but Efren did some work on this one.

The carpet in the video clip looks similar to a video I own of Ronnie Allen playing one-handed.

Though it is hard to see Efren's face for more than a couple of seconds, his hairdo with the longer bangs is reflective of a younger Efren.

I'll have to pull out my VCR and check out the video I have and see if this is the same carpet. If it is, I can pinpoint where this video clip was shot.

A lot of the similar looking carpet can be found in the Riviera ball rooms/convention rooms. Is it common in other older casinos?

serious enough that grady shooed efren away from the line of sight. some random walkers in the beginning too.

Thanks for the post jsp and catching the wrong direct link. Fixed now:-)

I like to include the direct link in case someone wants to download via youtube or check the youtube uploader for more relevant videos. The more researchers the better.

I would like to see a match where Grady gets to show his stuff. So Grady, if you're reading this, I hope you could provide me with a couple of samples and I'd be happy to promote sales of the full version of your videos / books on the site. There's noting like a 5-minute teaser to tempt someone towards buying a full tape or DVD.

> I can tell you with 100% certainty where this clip came from. A friend asked me one time after we had watched every Accu-Stats tape we could find to call them and ask if they had any GAMBLING matches on tape. Pat told me he did have one,but it was never advertised. This match was taped at the Willard's tournament in 1991,and was a race to 4 for either 500 or 5000,Pat wasn't sure, and you never see the payoff. The match goes hil-hill,and afterwards Efren does his usual pre-match warm up running full racks of rotation,at one point he runs 4 racks. This match was one camera and no commentary, but there is audio,Efren tries to get Grady to play 9-ball,and even offers him weight I think, and you can hear them bantering back and forth the whole time. I had 2 copies at one time,I loaned one out to a friend in Memphis and never saw it again, the other was lost in the house fire. Tommy D.

Reyes wins I presume?

Wasn't this the After Hours match?
Efren and Grady's most famous hook-up was at Hard Times, Bellflower.
I dubbed it for a friend of mine but never saved a copy for myself.
Efren smoked then and coughed horribly.
The video was black and white.
I believe this was the first time Efren beat Grady playing even on one-pocket for huge cash.

Thanks for posting this I really enjoyed it. Wow was Grady stuck behind the rack most of the game. I would reallly love to see the rest of the match.
Speaking of gambling matches does anyone have the set between Danny Dileberto and Ronnie allen ? If you do please pm me i would really like to see that one as well. ONEPOCKET IS THE BEST GAME

A friend of mine loaned me this entire tape a while back. I believe it was a race to 4 for $5,000. I forget where it takes place. Efren either wins it 4-3 or 4-2. In some of the other games, Grady makes some fantastic shots.

After hours match

I have this match - its an after hours match. Reyes wins - very good match though. At first it looks like Reyes is going to blow him out - but Grady hangs in and wins a few. At one point Reyes looks like there is no way to not sell out the game and he caroms off like 5 balls - length of the table to a nice safety. Grady responds, "thats the greatest shot I have ever seen". Hard to argue.
