F/S Joe Porper model B lathe

I also sent a text telling him what a tool he is. Guys like that need a pipe to the head.

I know that with guys like Dave, doing stuff like this will catch up to him. Especially if I place an ad in the local paper "the Pekin daily times"

He took down my post and blocked me. What a tool. I'm here in Missoula MT, anyone know how close he is to me?

And that was probably the safest way to go.
For some reason, I don't know how much I would trust Pay Pal.

Paypal screwed me a few years ago...I bought some electronics from someone in FLorida....he put it in a grocery cardboard box with nothing else. Naturally it got destroyed in transit...but Paypal took his word over mine as I had only one previous dealing with Paypal and he had a few hundred.... so beware of PreyPal....I dont trust them as far as I can spit.

Not to hijack your thread kunin35...I hope you get a resolve soon.

Not a problem, I appreciate it. This is my first time dealing with Paypal concerning a matter where the seller didn't ship, refund, and stopped all communication. So when they said they have to investigate I called my CCC just to make sure I was covering myself.

To propose a theory here with 'Dave'. He had a cancer benefit for his hospital bills.....delayed the auction, until more cuemakers donated cues from here...then all goes quiet for a bit. Delayed giving pictures and info, etc. Then he recently had a kidney removed (supposedly), I actually expected him to request another batch of cues to auction, but he didn't. But, if he didn't have the money for the first emergency, how did he pay for the second one? and then WHERE DID HE GET MONEY TO BUY THE EQUIPMENT for his new shop??? If he had this kinda money, he would have paid the hospital bills himself...oh ya, what bills....:D
Give ya one guess...from the auction(scam) he ran. Unfortunetly, there are dirtbags in the world like him. I am truely sorry to hear of this latest caper of Dave's, but I also feel bad for all the cuemakers and others that donated to his "auction' he held earlier, as they don't have any recourse to recoup what they gave. Hopefully the higher powers in the universe will bless them with rewards for helping someone that said they were in need.. There is a special place in the hereafter for scum like him.....right next to Eddie Wheat...and others we have seen here.
People buying big ticket items here may want to think about using escrow type deals, where a bonded third party holds the money until the deal is settled. Costs a few dollars, but in a $3000 type deal it's worth it.
Hope all ends well for the OP, not Dave, karma has a way of catching up with these types.
Dave

I think all anyone needs to know is he wouldn't answer Paul's phone calls, but answered mine the first time I called.

Add to that he could have easily come on here to explain himself and his actions, or lack thereof, paint an obvious picture of him.

If you don't get your money refunded from the CC company hit me up and I will try and help you get it back.

Someone once did the same thing to me for about the same amount of money(kinda weird, but true). He happened to live in England, but I was able to use my "charm" to persuade the return of my funds after several months. My methods were pretty involved but I'd be happy to share them with you..

Dave, thanks for jogging my memory. When he supposedly went into the hospital for the kidney removal, he was back posting on AZ within a week. Now, with the flu, he was in the hospital longer than it took him to recover from the kidney removal.

Also, when he came back, he was buying everything that came up for sale.
I think he got the Taper Shaper and a lathe. I remember that I was thinking,
for a guy that was broke and begging for hand outs to pay hospital bills, all of a sudden, he has a ton of money to spend.

Everything that came up for sale for a week or two, it was like, I'll take it, I'll take it, I'll take it.

I guess if we weren't such nice trusting people, someone might have called him on it when it first started happening.

You can't post on his Face Book page without being a friend but I believe I will click on everyone of his friends and relatives on his page and will let them know what a nice person Dave is.

That is if I can. I'm kind of Face Book illiterate but I'll see if I can.
I suggest that everyone else try the same.

Anyone like to buy a wool skin wrap? Apparently the wool was pulled over
all of our eyes quite some time ago and we were too blind to see it coming.

I mean, we were Ray Charles and Stevie Wonder blind all in one.

Just about any of his family and Face Book friends can be contacted.

How well do you know Dave Hedrick? Have a look at this thread on AZ Billiards web site. http://forums.azbilliards.com/showthread.php?t=301186

He ripped off one of the members there for 3K for a lathe that was never delivered. Check it out.

He has a ton of contacts. Every member of his family got one and I got halfway thru his friends.

Maybe he will have some answering to do. Maybe I will also get a ton of messages back. Hahaha, like I need Face Book friends.

I'm trusting that he doesn't like it for his family and friends to find out the kind of person he is. Too bad, he shouldn't be a thief then.

If anyone gets bored, they could also copy this message and send out a few.

One thing I've decided to do is send all the local halls in a 50 mile range a "flyer" with a link to this thread in hopes the room owners will take time to read it. Something with a heading like "Buyer Beware". I also think a shared pic of him from a public forum wouldn't be a bad idea as well. I will also take out an ad in the local paper as well with a link to this thread, reminding potential viewers they don't need to register to view. I figure if I can get at least 1 person to read it, the locals may not like knowing this guy has a "business" in their community. I'm hoping with a poulation of over 35,000 word will spread quick. After I file a report here with the local authorities and they in turn call Pekin PD, at least the local authorities will know what kind of person he is. Then afterwards I will send the "flyers" out again.

That is a start. I bought a dish receiver on Ebay that had an outstanding balance. Its a good idea to get the receiver id and check with Dish before buying one...FYI. The seller lied about it and continued to lie.

This was not my first experience with such things. Random calls(pretty easy to get info these days) at 2-5am. ALL his contacts on FB got a message. He refunded my money.

Worked again for another item that was NOT new(advertised as such). Calls...more calls. Eventually, I got a call from the local PD. Hey Dave, that is all that happens...a call. When Dave threatened me with calling the cops, I had to laugh at him.. Obviously, the only experience he has(and hopefully will have again) is from the other side of the bars... Again, I got my money back.

The guy in England was a bit more involved but...again... I got my money back...

The stupid...I mean STUPID thing about doing something like this on a forum is that you don't know who you are going to piss off. I like most of the people on here, but I don't KNOW anyone really. You rip off one person, but now it is public with a whole bunch of people who know who you are and where you live...

You're correct. You never know who you will piss off these days and because ANY individual has the ability to do a search, they can find out personal info. that can be shared. Of course with Dave livinig in Pekin and it being a smaller town and a limited amount of rooms from what I've seen based on a websearch, I may send "flyers" every 2 weeks. For me, even after knowing I'm gonna get my money back, it's personal.

Interesting thread and I hope it all works out in your favor. However, I'd suggest reconsidering this plan. While I'd love to see this guy get what's coming to him and letting people know about his scams helps others avoid getting ripped off, you are treading a fine line when you start posting flyers and taking out ads. Libel suits are an every day occurrence and even when you're 100% right, the costs of fighting a bogus charge can get pretty hefty. Even worse, you could lose (our justice system sometimes gets things wrong)!

Instead, I'd suggest hiring someone to find him and break his kneecaps. Wait, no, just kidding, honest, just kidding. You seem like a reasonable and intelligent guy so I think getting your money back should be where you make peace with the situation and move on down the road.

Or, you can forward the flyers to me, in Canada. I'll send them from here.

They can come looking for me up here if they figure that the Queens Law gives a crap about what I do In the USA.

Maybe I'll get extradited to the U S. As long as it is someplace warm and I get 3 squares a day, I'm happy.

Call >>>>" Black List "<<<<

Maybe we should start a STICKY call " BLACK LIST " keep all the Scammers name on the list. Maybe Mr. Wilson is kind enought to make a sticky for us.

Thats always helpful as there seems to be always some rip off drama going on in the Sale Forum Kenny.

I'm thinking Dave Hedrick will make the HOF Scammer list if Mr. Wilson will put one up for us here.

Sure looking like Dave was an accident waiting to happen to someone here or all of us at some point. I guess we are trusting people as we didn't seem to pick up on the finer points earlier on.

I know it has happened here but luckily this type of action is few and far between
in the Mach Forum. Lets try and be more vigilant in the future.

I got a ton of my Face Book messages bounced back to me on my page so don't know if they were deliverable or not.
Some apparently were not. Like I said, I'm pretty much FB challenged which is ok by me as I'd rather spend my time here than there.

I tried to make my FB page as much pool related as possible. FB just doesn't do it for me just the same.
