For all you die hard Brunswick fans!

How's that table of yours playing?....

Glen
Nothing like like giving a Brunswick the Diamond treatment to make it play good. It has taken me a little getting used to as far as the speed of the rails and the cloth but it is great. Thanks buddy.

I agree with you, the Brunswick frame is the nuts, I like it better on the 4's and 5's than before. As far as "Bashing" other mechanics, I have yet to type something here on AZ that indicates "Bashing" other mechanic's yet, as I have not, nor will I, I'd rather work with other mechanic's and try and pass on my knowledge because I'm not going to be a mechanic forever...LOL.

Looking forward to meeting you someday soon Mark, I think we'd get along great:smile:

PS. I think if we got hit by any kind of hurricane or earthquake, we'd be safe under either a Brunswick GC or a Diamond...LOL

And I do agree with Joey, Diamond's won't win a beauty contest, but they will win second place...provided there's only 2 contestants:D

Glen, I read a lot of things you have to say about pool table repairs, and you really know a ton.
I'm sure you're work on tables speak for it's self. I sure there's a lot of knowledge anyone could gain from you about pool tables. When you're video comes out, I'm more than sure I'll get one, for two reasons, one I'm sure I'll learn things, and two you deserve to make money on them for the time you put in to them. I wish you well with you're jobs ahead, and hope to meet and work with you someday. But I can't lift the one piece slate myself as you can. :) Believe me, sometimes i enjoy reading some of the things on here people ask about, and I always agree with you're answers.

Good Talking

your biased glen. So everything you say has to be taken with a grain a salt. I wonder what youd be saying if you where working for brunswick right now?

If I were biased...I wouldn't be working on anything except Diamonds. As it is, I'm installing 2 Diamond 9ft ProAms in a retirement center here in Tucson, AZ...and one of the deals of the sale is...that I recover and fix up 2 of the GC's there for a lot less than I'd normaly charge, I agreeded to do that because they'd like more than just 2 good tables to play on, so I'll make the GC's play perfect...is that what you mean by "biased"

I'd be saying the same thing I tell Diamond, "we" need to make the tables better if at all possible:wink:

Are Brunswick Super Speed still made overseas ( Taiwan, I believe )?
I know of a local hall with Gc4's and his cushions are getting hard already.

I believe CHINA or BRASIL not 100% sure.
I would call Brunswick and tell them about the cushions getting hard.
Not sure the out come, but some times the cushions are over kiln dried.
Hope this is some kind of help.

IF Diamond can copy the tear shaped top rail of GC, it'd be perfect imho.

Yeah, but, the flat top rail is perfect for setting a Pina Colada on!

Um ah yeah,,,, anyone know how to clean Pina Colada juice off of the cloth! Like they make "Chalk Off" do they make "Pina Colada Off"! :ignore: How about a Pina Colada auto washer;)

when i say biased i mean your opionins tend to skew towards the guy signing your checks.

Diamond don't sign my checks...LOL, the customers that buy Diamond tables and the customers that I fix up pool tables for do;) I work directly for the buyer, not the seller:p so if there's a problem with a Diamond table I'm delivering and setting up, I represent the buyer who's paying for my services when I call up Diamond to tell them about something that's not right:p

Glen

PS. I pay the cost of fuel/motel rooms/ food/ truck maintenance and everything else associated with the costs of living on the road, not Diamond.

And I don't know how you make it on the little you charge. I still owe you more of a tip then I was able to give when you were here. I haven't forgot the deal you gave me to set up my Diamond pro. I will get even:grin-square:

Glen,

I understand that you are a Diamond salesman/installer and damn good at what you do.

But why do you find that you must constantly bash other table mechanics and table manufacturers???

Why not just promote Diamond without always comparing them to GC's?

Are the GC's that much competition for you?? We all already know the answer to that one!!!

Its like the cue maker that must always tell everyone how good he is - ala Eddie Wheat!! The only difference is that you and Diamond are GOOD, so why do you feel it is necessary to keep telling everyone???

I just don't get that side of you......

Respectfully,

Russ.......

AMEN to you Brother, I am sick of TheRealKingCobra bashing Brunswick tables and other mechanics. When I buy my next table it will be a Diamond but probably not installed by THE RKC. This is probably one of only about six negative posts that I have made in the time I have been posting here, but I am worn out buy this guys lack of humility and class.

Take Care Everyone

Your loss.

After Glen re-covered my table it played better than it ever did.

NO ONE will ever re-cover my table unless they were trained by Glen and share his passion for perfection! LOL.

Ray
(does not work for Diamond either)

Glen is the Man!!! His threads sure seem to get read a lot!! LOL ;)

I am sure you are correct and I am glad your table plays better than ever. I have no hate toward anyone I just do not have a tone of tolerance for the way Glen treats others in his industry.

Take Care and Thanks again for all those wonderful tourney updates you have provided in the past.

"Bashing mechanics"? Who have I bashed, or are you like some of the other sheep on AZ, you just keep repeating what you've heard/read from others because it's without fact?

Now that you've made it clear about delivering a Diamond to you, talk is cheap...buy one and TRY and get me to deliver it to you...because it'll take more than money to get me to reconsider a delivery to you...even if I'm driving right past your house, that's a promise!:p

It's true you know, sheep will follow one another right over the edge of a cliff because they don't know any better, because they suffer from the lack of common sense...;) keep thinking I bash other mechanics:p

Glen

Abe Lincoln owned a Brunswick!!!
If I didn't get a great deal on my GC II, I'd have bought a use Diamond.
I would never buy GC III and up models.

Bashing is in the eye of the beholder, it is obvious that you are blind to the tenor and theme of many of your posts. Again, I am sure you are great at your trade and I congratulate you on the hard work you have done to perfect your craft. However, believe it or not you are not the only person on this planet that can set up a Diamond table that plays excellently. Good luck on your future table installations and I wish you nothing but the best and do not worry I will not be pursuing you for any table work in the future>

Take Care and God Bless you on your travels.
