I dont understand, what is there to split,is there big gambling going on there on site, with the casinos taking bets on the pool matches?if this is the case, then sure i do understand.

The casino doesn't take bets. I think there was some action when I was there but nothing crazy.

I took Rak because every match I've heard of them playing, he's won.

Now, of course, he'll get horse****ed by Shane.

I sure hope u people have your facts straight because I was there...it takes alot of balls calling people out like that...guess that's why we have an internet and no pool players anymore...

I feel the match was on the square.
If Souquet played played Morris....Morris would be the under-dog.
Hundal had just beat Souquet....why would he have to lose to Morris?

Someone needs to ad to their next book how dumping, chopping, double steering, and other things that have always gone on in pool. Johnnyt

Found the match in ustream archives.... U guys can see it with your own two eyes and be the judge.... Come back when you're done and tell there wasn't something funny goin on here.... Serves them right that SVB put them in the frying pan, one at a time....

RODNEY VS RAJ

I am watching it. I downloaded it to have my own copy. So far it looks to me more like Raj getting a LOT of rolls. Rodney is playing but not getting the rolls. He is playing great safes and Raj is ending up on the better side of most of them. Raj hooks himself twice on the 8 and both times kicks and gets the roll. From 3:2 Raj got all the rolls to get to 7:2 and Rodney finally got a roll from his safe to get a game. 7:3 Raj. Will let you know the rest later.

It's 7:3 for Raj and they are trading safes on the two ball and this exchange is a freaking CLINIC of how to play. This series of shots is worth the price of admission ten times over.

If they aren't both playing to win at this point then I need someone to show me where Rodney is dumping when he could have blasted the cluster open for Raj five times.

Raj finally gets a shot after Rodney misses a bank but he is forced to play it off the point of the cushion to make the three in the side. Then Raj gets a little awkward on the four and flat out misses it.

Rodney runs out to make it 7:4. He shot a tough five ball that he could have easily dogged.

Rodney breaks dry and leaves Raj an open table. Raj gets out easily.

8:4 Raj.

Raj broke, made the 3, shot a pretty shot on the one to come under the balls for shape on the 2 - gets in line to run out, runs out to win it 8:4.

If this was a dump then it was teh most artful one ever. To me Rodney played great and was on the wrong side of the rolls. Raj ran out the last two racks, Rodney broke dry and Raj ran out and then out from his own break.

I really hope that At Large or someone scores this match because I don't see a dump at all. Maybe those that truly believe this can use the recording to point out what points they think Rodney missed on purpose.

the only suspicious shot to me is when Rodney tries to cut a ball into the corner ( that ball was near the side) and it looked to me like a natural scratch. Maybe Rodney thought he could avoid the scratch but he didn't.
The shot I'm talking about is at 00:32.

That's what I thought but since Rodney missed the shot we can't know that if he had made it then the cue ball probably would not have scratched.

So from game one. Rodney misses an awkward angle three ball combo. Leaves Raj a shot, Raj runs out to the seven and shoots it so badly that it SHOULD have not gone but it wobbles and falls. 1:0 Raj.

Game two Raj breaks dry and leaves Rodney a thin cut on the one. Rodney makes it and then caroms off another ball to put the two out of position. Rodney banks the two straight back using the bridge and runs out but not until he gets funny on the five and has to thread the needle to get shape on the six. 1:1

Game three: Rodney breaks dry. Raj is hooked on the one.He elects to push by tying up the 7/8. Rodney passes the shot back. Raj tries to play safe and sells out leaving Rodney a tricky one to the side. Rodney makes it and alomst hooks himself on the four, gets wrong side shape on the two, plays a fantastic two rail shot to get to to three then a wonderful shot to get position on the four, nothing easy. Then has to swing three rails on to get on the five. Now that 7.8 comes into play as Rodney rolls a touch too far and he has to try and hold the cueball from too much angle. He makes the five and is hooked. Rodney then plays a great kick safe - leaves Raj the whole ball but no shot. Raj plays a distance safe. Rodney tries to play a two way shot banking to the corner using the 7/8 as blockers. Almost gets there but leaves Raj another look. Raj plays another distance safe still trying to hook Rodney completely. Rodney again goes for the bank and uses the nine to stop the cue ball. BUT the six does not stay up table and rolls all the way back down table to let Raj out. 2:1 Raj

Game four: Raj make two balls on the break - perfect on the one. Runs out - 3:1 Raj.

Game five: Raj makes Rodney rerack - then scratches on the break. Rodney with Ball in hand but the 3/4 is tied up with no way to use the one to break them up and get shape two. Rodney is a little frustrated plays the one to get shape on the two so he can play the cue ball into the cluster. But he gets too straight and has to force it and the cluster barely moves. Rodney thins the 3 to play the cueball back and forth down table for safe. Raj can see it but no shot - tries to play safe but sells out. Rodney shoots the three in but then the cue ball rolls too far and hooks him on the four. He then kicks two rails to leave the four safe. Raj hits the four and leaves Rodney a super long almost straight in tester. Rodeny makes it then cuts in a long five, makes the six and has a long seven, gets short on the eight mid table spears it in and the nine is easy. 3:2 Raj

Game six: Rodney makes a ball and has no shot on the one. Tries to play a passing safety and gets the kiss leaving Raj an open table. Raj makes short work of it and runs out 4:2 Raj.

Game seven: Raj makes a ball - looking at a thin on. Tries to bank it and gets a lucky roll to hook Rodney. Rodney tries to kick it two rails and hits it too thin and leaves the one in the jaws. Only the 5/8 are funny here and Raj elects to play a combo. Makes the combo but then switches hands to make the five and hooks himself on the six with only two balls left. the six is about two balls out from the rail. Raj kicks the six in two rails and ends up with a moderate shot on the 9 that he nails. 5:2 Raj.

Game 8: Raj makes two balls and scratches. Open table for Rodney. Rodney comes 50 yard line on the five. Looked like he was trying for a 5/9 combo. He misses a thin cut to the side. Leaves Raj a long straight shot Raj dogs it but leaves Rodney tough with the five on the wrong side of the side. Rodney tries to cut it up the rail and miss the scratch but he misses the ball badly and scratches. Raj gets out. 6:2 Raj.

Game 9: Raj makes Rodney rerack - 3 balls on the break dead perfect on the one. Raj does have to force position on the two a little but everything is wide open. Runs out 7:2 Raj.

Game 10: Raj breaks and makes a ball - perfect on the one - nothing is a problem - then he gets a touch funny on the five and hooks himself on the six and sells out a long thin six to Rodney. Rodney makes the six but runs into the eight and kicks it into no shot. Rodney then plays a brilliant safe sending the 8 two rails behind the nine. Raj tries to kick bank the nine and misses and leaves Rodney the out 7:3

You can read the rest above.

I vote NO DUMP and furthermore think that whoever thinks so has some MAJOR sour grapes happening.

To me this is just proof that the rolls play a big part in most sets between top pros.

Exactly right...Rodney played just got bad rolls.. I sure wish people would blame themselves for there gambling habits.

You started this tread and say you would be the last to call out Rodney, It seems
like several here have done your homework, Grow a pair, next time you think someone is dumping, walk up and ask them in person.

I'm with John here. I watched several games and saw no evidence of a dump or "business." It is entirely possible that they are making a "saver" here, but that is something entirely different than a dump. When there are thousands on the line many pros will "save" something, like $500 or a $1,000. That is a normal and acceptable practice. They are still playing to win though!

Rodney's playing style is fast and loose, so it may look like he is taking the match too lightly sometimes. Not so, that's his way of staying relaxed and avoiding the pressure. I saw two players playing their best pool and both trying to win. That's my opinion. I think to say otherwise does a disservice to both men.
