Fs: Three old joss cues

The Joss logo with the italic J dates the cues 1968-1972 100%
The hoppe cue is 1973

Here is an example of what Bob is referring to.

The photo on the left was taken from the Joss website from the Diamond series.

The photo on the right is from Leon's photos.

Note the difference in the style of engraving (even though the pix on the diamond did not hold up too well).

Of particular note, the "J" on the Diamond series cue is crossed at the top, and it is not on the cue in Leon's pic.

Do you know how long or when they started that type of ringwork? My cue was basically the same but with different wood and when I sent to to Dan he said it was mid 70's.

Thanks Joe, I just learned something more to look for from you., Bob

I stand corrected

Leon, These Joss cues were made when Bill Stroud, Dan Janes, Tim Scruggs, Bob Frey and Mike Cochran were all at the old Baltimore meat house on the hill. 1968-1973. The hoppe cue is a 73 the other two are 68-72. Very nice offering. g.l.
"country" Bob

Bill and Dan built Joss cues together in Towson Md. in 68 until 73 when Bill left. Then Tim helped until Tim and Bob Frey started Scruggs Custom Cues in 78 at the old meat house. When Bob left Mike started working with Tim and did so until his recent passing. They are still all friends and stay in contact with each other., Bob

I'm sorry but I've been very busy in the shop if anyone is interested in the Joss cues just call me i will be available thanks Leon Sly 410-827-4966 please do not call after 2am EST.

cues

Are these cues for sale or not? No Specks,No prices, No answer on direct mail, Nothing forthcomming out of this thread.
AZ sucks for buying things. It seems that most of the adds are put up for someone to google over someone elses pool cues. There should be listing headings: "FOR SALE" and others: "Just Look at what I Have Got" It would save viewers a lot of time if they are serious about buying a cue.
Just iritated and tired of looking over and over at the same adds and waiting to find responses that seldom come on AZ.

I just bought the middle one. 2 more are for sale. Give him a call, he'll give you all the specs and then some. Good guy.

Are these cues really for sale?

Have you tried doing what Leon asked?

a person shouldnt have to call to get a price. just like going into a store and having to go find the manager to find out what something costs.

I will post a new thread today.... sale pending on the cocobolo Joss so it Looks Like the ebony joss with Hoppe ring is the only cue still available.

That hoppe is a must-have, unless there is no outrageous price tag on it I don't understand why it is still here? If I was in the market for a cue I'd pick it up.

Some 'extra' info would be sweet though, there are a few guys here buying expensive cues out of the US and maybe not all of them want to pay for a $20 phone call only to find out two diameters and a price...

I'M INTERESTED IN THE HOPPE, BUT WOULD NEED FULL SPECS AND A PRICE. I AGREE WITH OTHERS, THAT A BUYER SHOULDN'T AHVE TO OUT OUT OF HIS WAY TO GET INFO ABOUT A CUE THAT IS LISTED FOR SALE. IF SOMEONE REALLY WANTS TO SELL SOMETHING, IT ONLY TAKES AN EXTRA FEW MINUTES TO BE SURE THAT ALL THE INFORMATON IS INCLUDED IN THE LISTING.

ARE THE SHAFTS WITH THE HOPPE ORIGINAL OR REPLACEMENTS? I'D APPRECIATE FULL SPECS, WITH A PRICE IF YOU WOULD PLEASE.

Marcus
