The Filipino players do seem to be showing up in force. Latest word is that Jef Deluna and Ronnie Alcano are lining up visa documentation. I'm not a mind reader and I don't know what the future holds but it looks like this event is going to be a very good show at the very least.

I wouldn't be surprised if Evgeny Stalev will be there, since he is supposedly in America for the Mezz event. (If my memory is not fooling me again).

Don't forget that AZ'er "pooladdict" from Norway will be at Galveston and do some damage :D

Unfortunately there won't be many European players this year, but let's hope the Galveston will be a major success no matter what.

My guess is that all pro-events will be won by Filipinos. What's the odds on that?
 
Is it true that they're not taking entry fees from non-pro players yet for the one-pocket event? I guy over in Mobile told me that he tried to call to register with a CC, but they told him they were waiting until most of the pros signed up before accepting amateurs.

I can't imagine that would be true, but has anyone else had that happen?

Hu, perhaps you have a misunderstanding here. The WPA has no events in conflict with Galveston. The CPB (South American Federation) has two events that clash with the dates, the Australians have one event and the EPBF has the Swiss Open. None of these are WPA events. They belong to the local federations. Further, the WPA has issued no statements to any players regarding the Galveston tournament.

I'm not going to disagree. My information is secondhand, read here on your forums I believe. Something about an event too close together or overlapping. Supposedly the WPA required the players to be elsewhere if they played at all, either at the same time or too close together for most Europeans to try to make both events. I'd be very glad to hear this information was incorrect.

Unfortunately I have read so much about the event that I don't know which thread that was in to go back and reread the info. I'll try to locate what I was repeating and very sincerely apologize if I am guilty of passing on false information. That is the last thing I would want to do.

(edit: The comment still up in the quote in JoeyA's post is based on secondhand information. Hopefully it is in error and I have removed the comment from my thread starter. Hopefully the Europeans will be here in force. Maybe the Galveston folks would answer a question about some of the Europeans that have expressed an interest in coming.)

I don't know you so I certainly don't hate you. You are playing a silly game with siglines addressed to me right now. That is hardly "dropping it". I will post my responses in siglines as long as you post to me a thousand times on the site. I think that is foolish and wastes both bandwidth and other readers' time. I don't think that even you and I need to read that foolishness every time we post.

However, you have chosen to address me in the past with words that crossed far over the line I will tolerate from anyone and be friends with them. You made your choices to attack me vilely so we both will have to live with your choices. I have no interest in eating with you or even meeting you. You simply don't matter to me outside of these silly little tit for tat games on these forums.

As for backing off, I haven't attacked you or addressed you until you addressed me. I suggest that we both quit going out of our way to stir the pot with each other and disrupt the site. That doesn't mean that we don't respond to each other's posts when we feel like it, that means don't make it personal. There are several thousand people on this forum that I post back and forth with without it getting personal.

Your call on the siglines. When you quit directing yours towards me I'll quit directing mine towards you.

We've touched on the subject of cues before. My disdain for high end cues, is well known by you and others.
(unless of course, I won it off a scuff, and immediately turned it into cash, then I love them)

I don't remember ever "slobbering" over a cue, although I may have while drunk.
But on the many occasions, I have been loaned high end cues,(often by my partner's or friend's)... my record is perfect !

I don't do it on purpose, but every few shots, I seem to fly up into the lights over head, or drop it on the tile floor. This has lead to many of the "loaner's" angrily grabbing their "baby" away from me (the "loanee") in mid game.

In those situations, I just head for the wood-pile, and usually play better, without the unnecessary pressure of being careful with a Goddamn, overpriced piece of wood.

My own playing cue has more nicks and dents, than any house cue I've ever seen. Still works OK for me.

Old habits, are hard to break.

There is a Predator 10-ball Tour in Portugal 11-12 September and the Eurotour Swiss Open from the 17-19 September.

The EPBF will not allow their top-players to play in other tournaments that has conflict dates with the Eurotour or other major WPA-sanctioned tournaments. If any of the players choose to do so, they will be banned from the Eurotour and won't be able to compete in the European Championship, World Pool Championships, World Pool Master, Mosconi Cup, China Open, Philippine Open, Qatar Open etc...

What can a player really do?

The Europeans are heading for the Eurotour

That is what you are too self-centered and sick to realize. I am better than you, far better. That isn't saying much, so are at least 95% of the posters on this forum. We never robbed old people for three years, we never robbed them for three minutes. We never made a dying man's last weeks hell because we ignored what others were telling us. Being better than you isn't an act, it is simply the way I and most people live. As for apologies, yours don't mean a thing because you will pull the same crap while you are apologizing or an hour later. Had you had the intelligence and emotional stability needed to let things drop I would have. Your last post tells me that we are just talking SSDD. You have a very few believers and a handful of cling-ons, most laugh at your wild fantasies. They didn't come true the last four or five times you made promises on the forum, they won't come true this time.
