you got to hand it to these guys. Dont both of these guys work a 40+ hour week, and still play world class? The dedication it takes is amazing. Anyone else work like that ,and still play that level?

been discussed 65535 times already. Breedlove is certainly up there amongst those woh work FT.

That said, I hold a job an nobody has beaten me in a couple of years...

The game's history is filled with stories of men with full time jobs who excelled in competition, but none greater than that of a seventh grade English teacher from New Jersey who still managed to win four consecutive US Open 14.1 championships. His name was Steve Mizerak.

last year some time I had the pleasure of meeting mike and peaches fuller in North Carolina in a Jacoby tournament i played in ...Mike Fuller works 40+ hours a week and plays jam up pool .. i was impressed that he played that strong with little practice time

another person..who know two other guys who work full time and in their own right play jam up pool..

Bernie Kirby of Va plays super strong for a man who works a full time job and still has that level of play..and dear god dont even talk about his barbox game..

My best friend Rodney Leech play jam up pool for a guy who works his azz off at a Desiel repair shop..if he had six months of nothing but pool time.. no telling how sharp he would be

Didn't Babe Cranfield also hold a day job? Did anyone ever confirm his fabled 500-600 balls runs in 14.1?

Maybe I am not in the know on this at all but isn't Breedlove married to The Black Widow? I knwo that she is making real good $$ out there doing exhibitions etc. What does he do? I would have thought he could take it easy.

He owns a company that makes furniture. From what I've heard he works 50-60 hours a week and does very well for himself. He seems like a man that would not live off a woman to me. Johnnyt

Im not sure if this is the right place to say this but I wanted to give out some props. I really appreciate the things you say on these posts quitecoolguy. If everyone in the pool world had your level of respect and love for the game. The world of pool would be so much better for it.

I work 40 hours a week and I practice everyday. I'm not at their level but I will keep practicing. There are people that do more then just work 40 hours a week and still play at a high level. I know of a few people that have beat cancer and other issues, work 40+ hours and still play at a high level (not world class yet), that is love for the game. I tip my hat to them!! :clapping:

I'm not taking anything away from George Breedlove & Donnie Mills, they both play great and it's a pleasure watching them!!

Mike Bandy.

I'd guess most of the members on this board have never heard of Mike Bandy but for many years he was probably Chicago's best player. As a last minute replacement in the 1994 WPA World 9-Ball Championship, he finished 5th.

Bob Vanover, a great player from Texas held a full-time job during his best years and straight pool champion Irving Crane was a Cadillac salesman.

No insult intended. You must choose who you play very carefully then? Players who play most anyone, even with appropriate spots, are going to lose sometimes.

I think Donnie Mills has made a few players get a job. :D
