How crazy is this.? Ok so for those of you who know me, you know that i work for americas body shop (maaco) i been an auto body painter for 15 years. Three weeks ago 2 main guys from our corporate office came to the shop i am stationed at to do a shop certification, each person in the shop had a 10 minute meeting with these to gentleman were they asked a few questions about the shop and a few questions about our personal life. So my 10 minutes ended up being 30 minutes. Its funny how pool is loved accross the glob from broke people to billionairs. so anyway one the guys whos name is john happened to really love pool and we got into talking about pool stories and what not so jokingly i said to him . Well you know john there is a big tournament in march here in new jersey so if maaco would like to throw up some money and sponsor me in the pro players one pocket tournament let me know, He responded by giggling and saying i will look into to it. So this all happened 3 weeks ago and i havent thought anything of it. Well today at lunch my boss calls me into the office and hands me a fax that was sent from our corprate office. It was sent from john and he wanted all my information and all the details for my entry into the super billiards expo. WOW. So i called allen hopkins immediatly and blew his phone up for 5 minutes until he answered . So after talking it over with allen he said that the open 10 ball and the open 1 pocket times schedules will conflict if i played in both so i should pick one and play only in that. SO I PICKED THE ONE POCKET. Ok so here is the deal . Maaco is offerong to pay my entry fee of $200 to get into the event, they are giving me $175 a day for the 5 days to go towards food and hotel = $875 they are giving me $200 for gas and travel time.. and last but not least i have off work payed from march 10th -15th and also monday the 17th. =$1700. They are also getting me polo shirts with my name on it . hahaha . NOT BAD FOR A B PLAYER FROM PHILLY.but im thrilled about it. SO I WILL TAKE 50-1 ODDS THAT I MAKE IT TO THE FINALS. I DONT HAVE TO WIN JUST GET TO THE FINALS. WISH ME LUCK

Well the money came from corporate, so I don't think we would get anyone in trouble...but that is up to the OP. Johnnyt
 
Pretty cool deal you got, I need to try that angle next time I feel like donating in a decent size tournament. :smile:

I work for AAMCO, same guy started both companies. From my dealings with our corporate support team, your crew seems a little more receptive. Make sure you have someone get some pics of you in action wearing the logo, you will want to forward a few of those to your support guys. They will shoot those pics right on up the ladder and may pay off for you again.
