Grudge Match - Columbus, Ohio August 20,21

He's a pretty smart gambler.

Matches up pretty good. When he's right he can be a force to reckon with for anyone. I would never cut count this guy out......

I know he can play though........but so can you.................

It's whoever gets it done right now that really matters.

Good luck Gene

We know they are playing for 75% of the PPV, but it would also be helpful if we knew just how much the two players are putting up. If it's just a few hundred $$ each, then that don't take much heart on Gene's part. Hell, I would even play Bart even for a few hundred and a piece of the PPV if someone wanted to see it. In fact I did play Bart even on a BB in Clearwater, FL w/o any PPV money. Yes I lost but I caught on that I couldn't beat him pretty quick...About $300 I lost Quickly :(. Johnnyt

Where is a decent BB in clearwater?

Match

I respect a man that plays on his own money a lot more than someone who is just a jockey on someone elses horse.

I am not familiar with Bartrams game or Gene's game, but just to get a handle, How would each of you play Tony Fargo?

Seems to me that Gene is stepping up to the plate, and Chris thinks he has a lock. LOL, back in the 70's, I used to race to 11 for a grand, now they want to go to 693,

Don't know about Gene, but Chris would BBQ Fargo in 10 ball.

This guy can play.

I think the problem is that James was trying to be funny here.

Tough action for sure.

I matched up with james and played him for 2nd and 3rd in a pretty good tourny. Both on 9 foot diamonds.

This guy can play...............

Never doubted that for a minute. I wasn't accusing James of not having heart in any way, shape, or form. Certainly wasn't doing any woofing cuz I wouldn't get in the box with him. Sorry he took my comments as a direct insult.

Sorry James. I respect you as a player, but this is a pretty weak statement if serious. I think anyone would play anyone else if the game is right.

When I read your quote, I hear "I'll play anyone if I have the nutz"!

I know there are grudge matches and woofing that go on all the time, but in my mind, I'm not going to woof at someone and then ask for the 7 and 2 on the wire in order to match up. Making a game is a different matter altogether.

But if I'm woofing at someone, it should mean I think I can beat them. In that case, it should be an even game.

You would be wrong thinking James has to have the nutts to play. I have seen James in action many times and he had the worst of it in most of those I watched. James will get up and play and has plenty of gamble.

i have an idea* - maybe not a good one, but here goes....

this thread is so funny and so full of 'life'. for me, maybe you too, it is such an enjoyable read...

i am just a player that loves playing so - no expert here. no shortstop, maybe just a D but still love to play...

reading this thread i found it so enjoyable, so many comments; 236 at this point with 11,563 views - WOW! and that is what gave me an idea and here it is:

as Big [Bigtruck] started this thread it made the whole grudge match idea seem - Wow, this will be fun! and that got me thinking about Justin, and Pat Flemming and Big and Fast [fastlenny] and others streaming grudges or even "kinda grudges"

that might be unique [i think] in sports. and maybe we can use that to make pool more vital & ENJOYABLE to the masses.

to date i think jcin has been the forerunner here, but alone he does not have the power to travel all over the U.S. not to mention abroad to take this on, but in my mind with a lot of help from other streamers and MONEY involved in the 'grudges' this might be a way to make pool "grudge matches' a fun way to spend an evening or two WATCHING!

if someone thinks this makes sense maybe speak to jcin or fast or big or Pat or whomever.

however, if my idea is just another chile cookoff [thanks bfdlad for the laughs] as thread http://forums.azbilliards.com/showthread.php?t=330244&page=2 especially post 26, okay, you can roast me too!

no harm intended, and i can't wait to stream the match from Big...
Good Rolls to both competitors!

all the best,
smokey

If down will play one pocket with you. Spoke to Bergman about your speed though. I'll need 10-5

Sounds good but Bergman told me about your speed too and said you were a nit.
I was shocked too but he said I need 9 7 but ill just play you some even 10 ball.

Obviously I like the idea. :D

Practiced for an hour today and felt good............

Set up a lesson and then went over and won a small tourny.

Need to do my roadwork to get ready for this.

I'm pretty sure I will be ready. Chris is going to get all he wants.

I guarantee he doesn't have to win this thing and I'm going to try my best to prove it.

I won't be the first time I beat someone with their picture on the wall.

I'll be ready for the big show............
