Grudge Match - Columbus, Ohio August 20,21

If I had any ability at all to do so, I would start working on the GRUDGE MATCH 2 promo poster right now.

I also had to duck out early on day 2 at about 11:15 due to a 5:00 wake up. I didn't anticipate anything ridiculous happening... I get in enough lopsided matches to recognize one when I'm watching.

Gene placed the CB as pictured below and thinned the 1. It didn't sell out but it wasn't all that effective.

Kudos to all 3 for putting this together. At least the challenge has been resolved, not for the $5k, but resolved nonetheless. I'd like to meet all 3 of you tomorrow if I make it to Beloit.

The important thing is that the picture shows the CB where Gene put it; Gene had BIH. I'm pretty sure I'd use the 3-ball to try to fully lock the 1 ball, but some might prefer the 6-ball.

That's the easy choice. But that only puts Chris on 2 as he breaks up the cluster and hopes Gene doesn't have an op for the 3rd.

It sounds like Chris has a plan to almost guarantee a 3rd foul, so I'd like to hear his choice.

While we await for Chris' response, here is my plan. Pick at it how you like.

Gene's move. Roll the 6 up to lock the 1 further. Leave the 3 where it is because if it remains there, that's the way to get to the 3rd foul.

Chris' move on 2 fouls. At that point, he not only needs to break out the 1, but also needs to make sure he scrambles the 3 away from the 5 so Gene doesn't have an easy opportunity to get the 3rd.

That's the best I can do for now. But I'll keep looking until Chris gives us his plan.

I haven't heard Geno pipe up that he's the favorite here. So not sure if it'll happen or not. I think Chris said it'd have to be for decent $, so Gene would have to have backers (which he probably would in his neck of the woods).

But Gene prides himself on playing on his own $$, so not real sure. His roll can't support a $5k set right now based on what he's said recently.

Close I think your on the right track

Push the 3 to where the cue ball is then with ball in hand I can't hit the 1 ball
And I'm on 1 foul first

Well I'll take that as a win. I thought maybe you had a plan that Gene could have 3 fouled you. I was racking my brains trying to figure it out.

By the way, since you handed the ball back to Gene after he left that shot, weren't you already on 1 foul? So you would've been on 2 if he rolled the 3 up to the 1 ball.
