Normally I would be out of the loop on things of this nature, however, I just spent 6 hours with Mark Wilson working on my game. During the course of the day he mentioned that he had just returned from Indiana where he had been working with Jeanette as she had an upcoming big money match with Vivian V. Under normal circumstance I would have inquired further, but I was so focused on the instruction I was recieving that I let that piece of info slide. I am meeting with Mark again tomorrow and I will inquire about the details and post them tomorrow night.

First and foremost, if this goes down, I'd like to bet on The Black Widow. Second, I do not think this is going to happen.
Best,
Rob

1on1,
I actually do think it is going to happen. The money ($40K apiece) has been posted for some time; just details regarding venue, possible internet streaming, and WPBA sanctioning have been the sticky points.

After 3 different change of venues; the latest is that the match will be Sept. 4th and 5th; held at Monica and Helena's room near Atlanta. Each session will be 8 hours for $20K (prorated if no one wins by the end of the session). I think it will be 9-ball, 10 ahead sessions, designated racker for JL (back won't tolerate that long of a racking session). I think the desire is for tight equipment. I have the details somewhere at home; I'll edit this post tomorrow if I find more or different details (I'm at work, operating on a recollection of an e-mail).

It should be a GREAT match. There will be some serious practice sessions here in Indy the last few days before the match; I suspect you will be high on the list of practice partners if needed (I hope I get to participate in some of the festivities).

I sure would like to see this go down. You don't get to see a truly big $$$ match between women very often. Both women have strong personalities too...should be entertaining.

mosconiac...I agree. Both are outspoken, and play with a "go get 'em" style! I wonder if Vivian is being backed by the Seminole Tribe in this. They sponsor her on the WPBA. Sounds like a great matchup! I hope it gets streamed! I've heard lots of nice things about Monica & Helena's new room.

Am I wrong in thinking JL is the favorite here?

Why would a match between to players have to be sanctioned by the WPBA or anyone else for that matter? Johnnyt

Was the TAR match between Monica and Sarah sanctioned? If not...why would this have to be? Johnnyt

PERFECT!!!!!!!!! That's the week I'm going to be there!
Sometimes I truly love my job!!!
I hope you're right!

We can bet this one Roy if you want VV? Johnnyt

Good luck finding action is all I can say :)

When I heard it was a 10-ahead session instead of a race I got dissapointed since it will be so much harder to find bets on it... I won't accept odds on VV, because I don't think she can make it, and I can't get/give games...

I'll probably bet on the over/under of hours only, but will need more info about the match before I make up my mind.

I understand...just thought I'd ask...never hurts to ask. Johnnyt

VV no slouch in $$ games. I played her at Fatso's in Tampa 7-8 years ago when I could play a little. Johnnyt

Don't count out The Texas Tornado. Probably the best lady out there for the cheese. Vivian is fierce. I don't know if Jeanett's back will hold up to an ahead
set.
By sanction I think that they mean give the okay..
I don't think the WPBA allows the women to gamble.

Oh please "don't allow them to gamble...at least 75% of them do. And there is nothing wrong with it. If they made $100,000+ a year...maybe there would be. Johnnyt

JT,
I believe there are many types of activities that must be sanctioned by the WPBA prior to the appearance of the players who have signed WPBA agreements. Among them are competitive appearances on television or for internet streaming (ie. the Maryland 14.1 event had to pay a sanction fee to stream matches played by JL).

AZBilliards would be happy to do a Free Live Stream of this if the dates are correct. The week after that we have to be in Portugal at the Predator International 10-Ball event but if it is really September 3 & 4 then we can be there.

If the principles have sponsors for this we will be happy to run whatever advertising the sponsors wish or can provide. All we need is for Helena to make us some chicken quesadillas. And a couple of Amstel Lights. And a back massage. And a new car. Wait a minute. Fantasy is starting to kick in here.

Seriously, we will do the stream if the principles wish. And if any sponsor wishes to kick in the $250 this will cost us we will be happy to mention them often, put them on the scoring ticker, and think good thoughts about their children.
