has anyone heard about a $$$ match JL vs. VV?

closer match than this might appear

If anyone has been paying attention Vivian is having a strong year. Jeanette is not quite as strong as she has been in years past, motherhood and interests outside of competition I suspect. They are side by side in WPBA standings with almost the same points and while a few places apart in BCA mens standings they have identical points. If the longer race favors anyone it favors Vivian and the longer it goes the more it favors her I believe. A very tough lady mentally as is Jeanette but I give a slight edge to Vivian there in a long battle.

willie; i should have asked you in the 1st place

Wow; this sounds great; Lenny, are you streaming this? Where can I buy tickets as I too will be in the Atlanta area for labor day? Willie, can you find out who I can call for information? Do you have the pool room's phone number?

1on1,
I actually do think it is going to happen. The money ($40K apiece) has been posted for some time; just details regarding venue, possible internet streaming, and WPBA sanctioning have been the sticky points.

After 3 different change of venues; the latest is that the match will be Sept. 4th and 5th; held at Monica and Helena's room near Atlanta. Each session will be 8 hours for $20K (prorated if no one wins by the end of the session). I think it will be 9-ball, 10 ahead sessions, designated racker for JL (back won't tolerate that long of a racking session). I think the desire is for tight equipment. I have the details somewhere at home; I'll edit this post tomorrow if I find more or different details (I'm at work, operating on a recollection of an e-mail).

It should be a GREAT match. There will be some serious practice sessions here in Indy the last few days before the match; I suspect you will be high on the list of practice partners if needed (I hope I get to participate in some of the festivities).

You're not wrong, Jeanette is a huge favorite. As long as her back holds up.

why? as already pointed out VV has been having a strong year. and if its a long race ahead that definitely give the edge to VV due to JL's physical condition.

Long sessions favor Viv. The designated racker brings it back to even I'd say in two eight hour sessions. Any longer than this though and it's back in Vivs favor. Excellent matchup!:)

Two of the absolute best money players among the women. I personally feel Vivian plays better for the cash than she does in tourneys. I just wish they were playing an all around, as both play jam up One Pocket and Banks as well. If they play all three games, these two are probably the best in the world among women. I can't think of anyone else who could match up with them. Throw in Three Cushions and 14.1 and Jeanette is in a league of her own.

So you want a little 50 $ on the side? I'll take J. Lee

Do you gamble? I'd like to bet on The Widow.

I bet but I don't gamble

Do you gamble? I'd like to bet on The Widow.

I bet but I don't gamble. The ten ahead race could be a little too short for me to be comfortable. I'd like a race to thirty that insures thirty or forty games would be played a lot better. Actually I have a good bit of money at risk in Galveston and I like my odds there a lot better than the odds on Vivian or Jeanette. I'm one of the few people that is ahead at the horse track after betting for years. I do it by not betting the close races.

Sounds great; i will pay the $250

Jerry, I will pay the money if ok with JL and V V and we can discuss affinity issues. john

Jerry Forsyth;1967342]AZBilliards would be happy to do a Free Live Stream of this if the dates are correct. The week after that we have to be in Portugal at the Predator International 10-Ball event but if it is really September 3 & 4 then we can be there.

If the principles have sponsors for this we will be happy to run whatever advertising the sponsors wish or can provide. All we need is for Helena to make us some chicken quesadillas. And a couple of Amstel Lights. And a back massage. And a new car. Wait a minute. Fantasy is starting to kick in here.

Seriously, we will do the stream if the principles wish. And if any sponsor wishes to kick in the $250 this will cost us we will be happy to mention them often, put them on the scoring ticker, and think good thoughts about their children.[/QUOTE]

someone give me some odds on the dough in a PM and I could be persuaded to bet on VV...cmon make a strong offer someone!

Just a little update; the matches will be played from 4 PM to 12 MN each day; other details I posted above are correct.

Anyone wanting to bet $1000 or more on Vivian let me know (money will need to be posted ahead of time).

There's no way JL is losing this - back probs or not.

I'd be shocked to see VV win. Not saying she can't - just saying I'd be shocked.

Why would JL not rack for herself or break for herself? Something physcially wrong?

JL has pretty bad scloliosis for which she has had multiple back surgeries. having someone else bending over the table to rack will give her a chance to play for 8+hrs at a time, otherwise her back couldnt take it. i think that some else breaking for her was said in sarcasm.

My guess is that this will be the most money bet on a head to head match between two women. Not too many 40k each mem's match-ups either in the last 5 years or so. Johnnyt
