I also have a story that made me feel a little bad for the other guy:
There was a benefit 8-ball tournament held for a local member of our APA leagues who had cancer. Lots of people showed up in support of this well-liked member, so it was decided that the races would be to 1, because of the many that entered the tournament. A lot of BCA league players showed up too, and I drew one in the first round. I won the lag and he racked the balls. He told me that he needed to run to the bathroom and to go ahead and break and shoot until I missed. He left, I broke. I made the 8-ball on the snap, match over (yes, there were PLENTY of witnesses). He came back from the restroom and I offered my handshake. He complained that making the 8 on the break isn't a win. I informed him that he was playing in an APA establishment, in a tournament held for an APA member, and one using APA rules, and in the APA, making the 8 on the break is a win.
I honestly felt bad for the guy, but hey, if he would have done the same thing, he would have taken the win too.
