I have a black leather sterling wave 2x3 case that I absolutely love but I've noticed that this has started to happen to the top pocket on the case & I was wondering can it be fixed or am I screwed & should look for a new case?

Forgot to say it's the stitching a hairline above the zip. (Zip is closed btw)

It could be hand stitched. It would show, but not look terrible if done nicely.

But...I really don't think that is leather.

Someone could take the pocket completely off, sew on a leather perimeter, and then rivet the pocket to the case via the new leather.

It can be repaired in number of ways. Easiest would be to glue a strip of fabric or leather on the inside and sew it together.

Are you sure it's leather? Looks kind of like torn fabric in the pics.

So...this is NOT a thread looking for handouts in jesus' name for pool playing?

What got that thread shut down anywayy?

Thanks I never actually thought about that, this is why at times this can be the best billiards forum on the net.

To be blunt, the case is probably not worth the money anyone would charge you to repair it. You can apply a little black duct tape hillbilly technology to 'repair' it somewhat, but your money would be better spent on a new case.

John Bartons rugged cases are a good bang for the buck.

There you have it. You heard it from the man and the legend. DUCT IT. Put some character on that case.

Get some black thread and sew it back together. The thread won't show, and if it's done right will look good as new. A person with sewing experience should have no trouble, if they've ever hemmed a sleeve or a pair of jeans.

Took it to machinist but it would fit for her to sew it, so took Poolhall60561 & Allen Brown's advice & took it to a cobbler (shoe repair place) because they are better equipped (incidentally this is what the machinist said to do) & he said he couldn't do it because "it would break".

So it looks like Gorilla glue or duct tape are my last & only options but I do appreciate the replies guys.
