help support my go fund me campaign for pool instruction

O That's deep
I felt bad for second, ( really )

If you are going stand on the corner and beg for money then you should really need it and you should of exhausted all other avenues of working for what you get.
And getting donations for pool school isn't what I would consider someone who is in need...

IMAGE OF POOL :rotflmao1:
Personally I don't care what happens to pool, I play pool and I don't care how dark and smoke filled the room is, I don't care if I need to carry a UZI to protect myself.
I am there to play and enjoy the game, I don't care what color peoples skin is or how young or old they are or even what sex they are.
I don't care if they don't speak English or Mexican

You could be some trans gender that just came out of the closet as far as I am concerned, I am there to play pool not swap spit in the shower or hear the woe is me from someone who cant be honest with themselves and would actually ask for donation's so they can get pool lessons
If your that way, I don't want you at my table.
I play pool for fun not to be around phony scammers that cant carry there own weight and cry like some baby when they don't get there way.
You're batting a thousand today, my friend!!

This stuff is priceless. First I would like to thank you all , in just 12 short hours you guys have single handedly given me all the material I need to ace not 1 but 2 of my courses this semester.

You see this was a little experiment given to me by my sports psychology professor after a nice long debate we had about billiards and how he claimed it's come a long way since sketchy pool halls and smokey dive bars . That billiards is making its way mainstream and that it's a new breed of people involved in the sport that care about the advancement of the sport and getting new people interested and involved for the health and growth of pool .
You know, any professor would tell you that 1 simple trial of a very simple test of generosity to anonymous strangers online, does not in any way telll you about all those aspects of the game that you list.

Now my argument was that pool is actually regressing back to the shady days of bar room hustling , strong arm guys , and selfish players that only care about themselves, and are afraid to get new blood interested and involved out of fear of teaching someone who potentially could become better than them.
You cant draw such wide ranging conclusions from a simple test of generosity towards strangers online.

And as passionate as I am about the game and sport in general I am ashamed to say that's I'm right . We set up that little go fund me campaign , leaving the info fairly vague as not to influence people one way or another , just to see how the reaction was and the acceptance of it
Any professor could have told you the outcome of this trial before you even tested it. Generosity is not unconditional but depends on many factors. It's been a few years since my psychology courses but I bet it would be important to know what degree of connection you feel to the person, the degree of distress he appears to be under, wether you expect him to reciprocate etc...You give very little indication of these factors and very little information. The sort of yes/no choice you give does not really tell you anything about the generosity. A real professor (as opposed to one that got his degree with a box of crackers) would set up several experiments to determine if you could get people to be generous and what exact factors would make that possible..Also he would not generalize from this simple experiment to a lot of sweeping conclusion about the game of pool as a whole.

Also, at least in my country, and I believe the US is like this as well, you cannot perform experiments on the population, expecially involving deception, without going through an ethics commitee evaluation (which for such a dumb, worthless experiment is a certain rejection). This is why experiments of this kind is almost always carried out on psychology freshmen who give their consent in advance. Also, when the experiment is over, again especially one involving deception, it is mandatory to do a thorough debriefing of the participants. Gloating or moral judgement should not under any circumstances be a part of that debriefing.

. And without digging into or asking questions people just immediately began bashing it , which is the response I expected , you see I could have easily been some kid that doesn't have much in life just trying scrape up money anyway I could to learn the game , that I seen being played at the bar my mom or dad spends our rent or utility money in . And I heard some guy in my area teaches it . But with the exception of one or 2 people that did question something nobody cared , they just bashed, saying stuff like quit being a bum , quit pan handling , get a job etc . Did I expect any money to be donated no , because as I said before nobody cares about the new guy learning to play cause he might become better than them and take that $20 a rack out of there pocket . Or knock them out of that d level tournament . And as of this post no money has been donated .

Now before every goes crying foul , If I had been proven wrong and the pool community was more generous than thought , any funds that had been donated were actually going to send a kid how has had it rough in life and is very deserving of it to pool school . And since everyone was so adamant about me getting a job and earning the money myself , I do have a job and I am putting up the hard earned money to send this kid .

And as a little side note this same little social experiment was done in different sports genres baseball, basketball, football even soccer and tennis and this is the only one that failed to pony up anything but rude comments and snide remarks :thumbup2:

You have given away more than you think with this "defence". Not only are you a troll, but you have most likely never gone to college, and you have certainly not studied psychology or sociology.

Batting a thousand

You're batting a thousand today, my friend!!

Its my Birthday , what can I say.

What a crazy request, I have never had to beg for anything in my life........
I have been down and out at times, but Have always pulled through it even if I had to repay some people who has helped me on the way.

What is the heck is going on ? is I can afford a phone that goes on the internet and can afford to pay for internet service and pay my cable bill and cigarette habit then I could certainly afford pool instructions.

PS I don't smoke cigarettes, that's like a car payment worth of savings.

So what your "research" shows is that pool players are much better than other "athletes" at spotting the scam!

Nice try, but we know you are actually the jerk who wrote the original post.

I dug into it all I needed to.

Your Facebook page has the same request (I find that interesting especially since you now pulled it), you have a job, so you make money, and you appear to spend it on body art. Your explanation simply sounds as one trying to save face.

I gave you the best advice you could possibly want, save up for what you want, maybe don't buy that next tattoo and put the money away to save for your instruction.

This forum has helped a number of people with their dream, in those cases, there were people who vouched for their character, and this forum came through.

The BS your shoveling is insulting, to everyone on this forum, who gives up their time, experience, and money for free to help those with real needs.

Here is some more free advice, apologies can go a long way to restore others faith of you in this community.

I think I would rather contribute to Z's cloth fund......
...green, blue, or camel.....anything but red...

'course, there's always Lou and JB....they got a few bucks freed up that they won't be
doing anything with.

Now there's a worthy cause.

And, you should fail your course with your response above. You see, you went in assuming what the outcome would be. And, you also set it up to get the outcome you wanted. Now you say you were right all along.

Actually, you are very wrong. This site has ponied up many, many times to help others out. From free cues all the way to funeral expenses and entry into major tournaments. Those were actual people in need. Your post reeks of someone begging, not someone in need. This site does not take kindly to begging.

The AZB sent me to the U.S. open...to the tune of $2000.

Thanks again, azbros, with special note to mike, stu, Dave w...you knows who you ares.

Help support my go fund me campaign to attend Mark Wilson pool school . I'm trying to attend day 1 and 2 of Marks instruction so I can take what I learn and help new players become interested in the sport . We all know how frustrating and difficult it's is to get involved and grow in this sport without some guidance and help learning to stay passionate about the game of pool . And it's the newer players that we need to get involved and learn to keep growing billiards . And that's what I want to do so please help anything you can is appreciated, here's the link to my campaign . And thank you

Link https://www.gofundme.com/826a3zxs

Okay, let's analyze. First your initial offer:

1.) It's Mark Wilson's pool school or 'the' Mark Wilson pool school --- not Mark Wilson pool school.

2.) You're not 'trying to attend.' You would like to attend.

3.) You want to take what you learn and help new players. Do you have any idea how much damage you can do to a player because you are not qualified to teach? How long do you think Mark has played and refined his game before he started teaching?

4.)...And it would be a good idea for you to actually learn how to play before sharing all the wealth.

4.)...And speaking of sharing...Mark's course material is his intellectual property, and sharing it without permission is illegal.

If I were your college professor, I'd fail you just on the basis of your poorly thought out and poorly presented offer.

You love my wine colored cloth more than anyone here....you're just in the closet...but if you insist, the table is a 9ft GC2 and my wine cloth is simonis 860. If I'm going to leech new cloth out of people, it has to be the same awesome stuff, just tourney blue. :D

I do love the wine cloth. So much, in fact...that as one who was raised a catholic, I must not allow myself to enjoy it and it must be eliminated.

I am in for at least a $20. Pictures required.

Okay, let's analyze:

1.) Single handedly is not a term. It's single-handedly. There's a hyphen between the words. For a college student, you are reckless with your grammar.

2.) There should be a comma after the word 'see' in the second paragraph. That's 3rd grade grammar. You need to stop being so sloppy if you want to ace your courses.

I won't address the other many grammar errors in your post. I think you get the point.

However --- one in particular is interesting --- Your spelling of the word 'defence.' That's the British spelling, so either you're too lazy to look up the word and just spelled it arbitrarily, or you're not from the U.S.A..

Your offer was about passing the information on to other players. You make no mention of that here. Instead, you argue here that no one cares about helping a person get better in pool --- yourself.

The rest of your response is so weak and lacking in any kind of logic that it really is a very sad testament as to where our society of young people are in mentality today.

Do yourself a favor --- Stay in school, and for goodness sake --- pay attention in class; and if you're not in school, find one and sit in on some classes.

Still waiting for links to his Uber successful requests for money from other activities.

Maybe we are just better at spotting the frauds from the nature of the game/hustling ;)
