Sitting is probably the worst thing he could do for his back. I question the value of all these trans-Atlantic flights to see a back doctor!
The Concorde just isn't an option anymore, so he's looking at 12 hours of flying, at least, every time...

If he flies out of LA direct to Frankfurt the flight is 10-10 1/2 hrs. But I think that the clinic he goes to is in Munich. Flying 1st class the trip would present no problem. Hell, I fly Economy and even at my age I find the trip to be no problem and my back is not the best. I can sleep 4-6 hours, read for 3-4 hours watch the movies and I am there. i fly 1st class LAX-Munich its easyer than flying to NYC in delta 1st calss because the Delta seats dont go flat, infact in the past 3 years i have been to the east coast only 3 times and europe 6 times,
i had a operation on friday, i got here tuesday night and spent wed-thursday at the drs.office doing all the pre-op things, i got butchered friday morning, saturday and sunday were both a disaster i didnt sleep much for 60hrs probably 3 hours it hurt so bad, figure that out it has happened to me on 2 prior operations, its something like 930 tuesday morning and i'm ok, sunday i used less than my normal intake of pain drugs just to see how it really was-it was bad but a different bad so thats a good thing, yesterday i used 1/3 my normal amout of drugs and had a little discomfort in my back and with drawls, i did wake up once last night to take 1 pill to calm the DT's. now its monday morning i took 1 pill for pain and i feel fvckING GREAT!!!!!!!!!
Man i swear on my mom's grave i will be off the drugs this week if my back feels just fair, i like the pain in bodybuilding-it comes with the sport, shooting up roids never bothered me(hell I shot actually-IVed some pain drug friday night-my dr lets me do what i want here-didnt bother me a bit to IV it, he was suprised),
i never liked the pain drugs. i can handle some pain but to have my brain back is worth everything to me. let me tell you the pain meds give the roids the 5 as far as being bad for you, as far as addictive god bless anyone with addiction problems and pain pills they are done, i only used pain meds because I had a reason, i hope this last operation did the trick, I have more metal in me but feel different, a good different...

Sounds good Fatboy. When I worked Ortho we had two kinds of patients after surgery. One didn't want to move at all. The other wanted to do too much to early. If I had to guess I'd say your the latter. Don't try to do too much too soon. Let the doctors, rehab people, and your body tell you how much you can do. Johnnyt
