Smokey--

I watched it twice today, that is the way we should honor all our brave soldiers who serve this country, thanks for Posting--

smokey, if you read this I would like to repost this on my facebook page.
this is how all fallen soldiers should return home.

I will not repost with out consent, but more people need to see this

That was an amazing sign of respect by the people of North Carolina. I cannot thank those men and woman who put it on the line every day. I can't even come up with appropriate words. This is being sent to all on my email list.

Thank you Staff Sergeant John Beale. You must have been an incredible man.

Bob

Smokey,
Thanks for honoring our warriors. Very much appreciated.
Every time I see the wreath being laid at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier,
I get that hot feeling in my eyes when you're trying not to shed any tears.
And the same sorrow is replayed every time a video such as the one you posted is viewed. If just watching these videos is tough, I can't imagine what their families must endure.....

Thanks for this post Smokey. My son is a marine and i am thankful for all of our soldiers and wish them all a safe return.

Wow, It was emotional but it gave me an uplift seeing all those people. It was an outstanding tribute of honor to Staff Sgt. John Beale. He must have been one hell of a man.

Smokey,

I watched this first sometime last year and it really hit me then. It hit me just as hard today. A great tribute which speaks to the honor of our fallen heroes and to the character of the American Spirit.

Thanks for putting it front and center.

Your friend,

Will Prout

note: from a local GA paper...

"A true Welcome Home

To a HERO. Killed in action the week before, the body of Staff Sergeant First Class John C. Beale was returned to Falcon Field in Peachtree City, Georgia, just south of Atlanta, on June 11, 2009. The Henry County Police Department escorted the procession to the funeral home in McDonough , Georgia . A simple notice in local papers indicated the road route to be taken and the approximate time. Nowadays one can believe that America no longer respects and no longer honors sacrifice outside the military. Be it known that there are many places in this land where people still recognize the courage and impact of total self-sacrifice. Georgia remains one of those grateful places. The video below is a short travelogue of that day’s remarkable and painful journey. But only watch this if you wish to have some of your faith in people restored."

I gotta say.... I'm teared up from watching that. Thank God I'm working from home today. At first I was like--- there's NO WAY those people are there for one guy. That's probably a procession for a bunch of guys in different counties until I saw the poster boards and billboard.

That guy got a better receiving line than President Reagan did at the Capitol. God bless him - he deserves it.

Happy Hanukkah, and Merry Christmas to all. We all need to be grateful for many things When it comes to our military we need to show our gratefulness to those who gave their lives but we also need to show our gratefulness to those who are alive. Living here near Ft. Campbell and having 8 family members in the armed forces I have seen way to many soldier come back from war with No one to meet them. Its truly sad seeing some of them scan the crowd only to find no one there.

I agree! I've spent the last week or so helping my youngest son get all of his paperwork in line to join the Navy. He spoke to the Marine Corp recruiter a few weeks ago and was about ready to make that choice but he listened to my oldest son and I who are both Navy veterans and has decided to stick with the family tradition. Don't get me wrong, I would have been just as proud of him if he'd chosen the Marine Corp but I think I'll sleep better at night with him in the Navy and I feel his travel opportunities are much better also. God Bless all of our Kids serving our country and pray that they all come home in one piece.
