How do fat people play pool ?

There r some football players well over 400 pounds, but they can play the whole game, how u may asked, because they r in really good football shape, they mite not look as they r in good shape, but when u watch n see just how fast n quick a 400 pounder can be it is amazing,so i would say just cause u mite see a guy that looks fat, that doesnt mean he is in bad condition, like u had said, some over weight pool players can play a lot longer then others,i would guess thats because they r in better condition, but anyhow good luck to u with your weight lost program, losing weight and looking fit and feeling fit should be everyones goal,if that is what they r in need of,SO DONT NEVER LET A BIG MAN FOOL YA,HE MITE JUST B N BETTER SHAPE(CONDITION)THEN IT APPEARS!

I have to strenuously disagree on many levels. Our society us quite used to glorifying such people and the general perception that that post is perpetuating is a falsehood in the extreme.

Such people are not in fact in good condition nor generally in good health. The myth is also perpetuated by many trainers, coaches and other such people. It is simply wrong. There are even doctors who become famous for participating in such madness. I can think of one in particular that is in general highly revered but is in fact a quack that violates any and all standards of care. The typical modern professional football player is destroying his body for money, drugs, sex, notoriety, etc.

Glorifying such a thing and even going to the extent of identifying it as being in any way healthy is a symptom of what is wrong with modern Western society I think and demonstrates how distorted people's perceptions about health really are.

As for the OP, it was perhaps an indelicate way of introducing the topic of discussion, but I am glad he would decide to pursue a healthier lifestyle.

so far: You have called me a douche, an internet tough guy, a whiner & several other things including some drop to their knees comment that i just don’t understand.

You have said that i would not have the balls to say what i have typed, to your face or in person.
I assure you that i do have the balls & would say everything to your face or in person that i have typed..

Call me all the names you want, say whatever you like.
I still stand by the statements that i have made.

You do not impress me & your name calling and silly insults have made you look very stupid.

SLIM

well ok, you are being douchey, towards me. i am not calling you a douche bag i am describing your behavior.
i didn't say you were an internet tough guy, i said you should take your insult and go to thier web page.
i don't think you'd say any of this to my face, but i did give you the respect to say you very well might.
i never said you were a whiner i said people were whinning - like the guy who gave red rep. which wasn't you.
and i am sorry if you are offended but you are more and more going the douchey internet tough guy route. you are the one who keeps calling me stupid, telling me to take my story and shove it. and after you all this you say you didn't say it. now you pop back up and tell me all hard like you'd say it all in my face.
i told you already i am not trying to impress you, impressing guys isn't my scene.
got any more things you want to say that are wrong or make you less intelligent?

If a 400 pound football player is not in good condition, then how does he play the whole game,he may not b in the best of health, but if he was not in good or great condition,he would b on the bench!i dont know how one would fake being in good condition,u either r and play the whole game or ur not n sit the bench!but anyhow i do respect your view.

I do love the "keeping it real" internet forum bylaw.

For those that are not familiar that falls under the "Douchebaggery" section in the latest edition:

Internet Forum Posting Bylaws 4th Edition
Section 2a: Douchegaggery on the internet.
Bylaw #6: "Keeping it Real"
Description: Any and all statements regardless of their level of retardedness, assclownishness, rudeness, and/or just plain stupidity can and will be excused provided it is posted under the guise of "keeping it real"

Example: "Why do dumb asses post stupid threads on the main forum? Just keeping it real."

Thank you, Chopdoc. Cute little uses for a man boob hardly compensates for the health risks of obesity: diabetes, high cholesterol and triglycerides, fat pockets between the organs that potentially interfere with their functioning, the load on the joints, the higher risk of heart disease and stroke, etc. Being unusually quick or whatever for your body fat level doesn't nullify these risks.

Some common excuses, and some responses:

excuse - I like good food.
response. - We all do. Well seasoned healthy food is just as tasty.

excuse - There's a lot of muscle under this fat; I can bench X lbs.
response - But you still have too much body fat, and therefore the risks above.

excuse - It runs in my family.
response - Genetics might affect your metabolism, but lifestyle would go a long way toward controlling that. Endomorph doesn't mean obese.

excuse - My doctor says this is normal for me.
response - Find a better doctor.

excuse - You could get killed walking across the street tomorrow, so you might as well enjoy life.
response - When you cross the street, you look first to make sure you aren't stepping into harm's way. Accidents happen, but that doesn't mean that you should stop taking reasonable precautions.

I don't say this to trash people. When I see obese people who can barely walk, I sincerely worry about them. It's their choice to neglect themselves if that's what they really want, but I don't believe it is what they really want. Unfortunately, by the time the alarm rings it's usually too late.

I do not know that society is glorifying heavy people, they bash them more than anything and talk about everyone should go on diets and eat this and that. I think for some people its needed but what about those walking skeletons who starve themselves, they might look healthy in some ways but on the inside there body is eating itself. This is what I just woke up to on my home page of my computer. They talk of misery and post a picture of some dudes big belly.

I disagree. If that is how you define good condition then, OK. But I don't.

He merely survives the game, then eventually fails. That's why their careers are so short.

Some of the methods they use to survive that game include things like injecting steroids into their joints, which destroys the joint. That's just one example.

Ralph Cortez.

I've seen some fat guys play amazing pool...Just never for very long.

Miz and Buddy would both still be winning tourneys if they had controlled their weight better.

Ralph Cortez comes to my mind. I think he was known as Large Ralph or something like that. Pretty sporty player and a nice guy. Met his son who was about 20 years old who also plays. Imagine starting out with a mentor like that and daddy to boot!
