I am just curious how hard people think they break. That other thread got me wondering.

I dunno, 20-22 mph-ish at peak power I guess/hope.
I'm gonna find ut though. Been wanting to try that voice recorder trick for a while now.

20+. Hovers around 22. Medium break around 19, and smack the rack at around 25.

16-20mph with control, usual speed.

24-25mph minimal control but not launching off the table.

28.6mph fastest with absolutely no control and I don't know how it stayed on the table.

I dunno, I'm a big guy but break like a pussy so I'm guessing around 15 ish

If anybody's got any suggestions I'm game

I broke about 8 or 9 times on the gun.
When I tried my hardest the fastest I broke was 18 mph
When I broke the way I normally break it was 15-16 mph. By the way Jake 15 mph is not breaking like a pu$$y. JMO :D

Yeah but I want the Hurricane break where shit looks dangerous

When I was a teen 15-16 they always had a gun at the VNEA Junior nationals in Minnesota and my fastest break was 27.9 AND I got a shirt that said I had the biggest break there! Woo Hoo! :)

I had mine clocked at 17 for my normal break. If I really tried I might get around 20, but IMO my 17 is just fine for almost every table I have played on. I can pocket balls on a slow table, but not spread too much in case I get a dry break so I do not leave a wide open table for my opponent.

Break Speed

I guess it depends on the table. On a bar box, I am guessing I break pretty consistently at 25 mph. I have done 30.8 on a barbox before. Days that I am hitting them good, I would guess 27 consistently.

On the big box, I don't think it is as hard but it might be. I am guessing 23-25 pretty consistently. A lot of it depends on how good I am playing in which will describe how well I am controlling the cue ball which will help me decide how much to unload on it.

I'm curious as to why you think you break more slowly on a larger table.

Thanks,
Jim

I break harder than anyone else in my league when I've got my break working (some nights it seems like it just doesn't have the same pop). I've never had it clocked, but I'm guessing it's over 20, and I'd be quite surprised if it was over 24 or so (since I gather that's harder than most of the pros break, even when they're hitting them pretty hard).

When I was in Vegas in May I went over to the booth with a gun and hit my normal break (about 80% of what I can do) and it was 22.8mph.

not really positive but i would guess id be in the 15-19. Anyone ever seen Gandy Valle break? one break (9 ball) every single ball ended up on the other side of the table.
