av84fun supplied a link to Mark Wilson's web page and I was a little embarassed to realize that I had never been to his web page to read any of what he had to say. I visited there and was astounded at the amount of quality information on improving your pool game. http://www.playgreatpool.com

The portion What I Think About is incredible and well worth reading. I've never met Mark but wouldn't hesitate to take a lesson with him or break bread with him.

His stories on Luther Lassiter are spectactular and says a lot about the man that Mark Wilson is.

His offer to analyze your stroke via mailed vhs tapes is interesting using his three positioned object balls.

I've heard a lot of good things over the years about Mark Wilson, right here on AZ and have kind of glossed over them. After taking the time to read information on his web site, I am privileged to be a part, although a distant part of his fraternity. Thanks av84fun!

As an Advanced Billiard Instructor & professional pool player Mark Wilson will inspire you to be a better pool player. As a person of enormous empathy, intergrity and generosity Mark will inspire you to be a better human being.

Two of a kind, Mark Wilson and Jerry Breisath! Gentlemen pool players and damn good instructors. I'm lucky to call them both my friends. :)

Mark has been a buddy of mine for awhile I can tell you that he is so nice it makes you sick. If he loses a match, you never hear him say that his opponent got lucky or has no chance to beat him. He is a true professional.

And even though Mark makes a part of his living giving lessons, he will jump at the chance to show a player something for free. Talk to him & he will tell you that too often, the word sharks when it comes to pool players is how they treat the new player. Pool players more times than not will devour a new player, getting them to gamble when they can't win. This just causes most new players to give up to quickly or be embarrassed. If more players were helpful like Mark then there would be more new champions in this world like Justin Bergman (one of the players he has taught).

I was VERY impressed with Mark both as a teacher and a guy. I had a great day when I visited him. I wish it wasn't 3 to 4 hours drive to get there.

For Mark Wilson I will type conforming to society

Joey, Mark is the finest man, as well as Jerry Breiseth who was his coach, I have met in my return to pool. Mark is such a gem as is his wife Kathy, his beloved St. Louis Cardinals were in the World Series last year and a well known female pool star pulled every string possible to treat Mark to the 5th and final game of the 4-1 Cardinal World Championship; This lady made him a happy man and those of us who love him were happy for him. His only failure, so far, has been his inability to train me to rival Efren in 9 ball but I ain't dead yet. The only thing better about getting lessons from Mark, is to know him.

Just like the fat kid in a dodge ball game, "I am out of here"!!

By the way, those of you who know Jerry and his wife Carol, she is very ill and can use all of our prayers.

I've heard nothing but good things about Mark for years. I wish I could take a lesson from him. Maybe in the future.

Well done John. It's nice to see you posting normally out of respect for Mark, and I actually read it. However it does undermine any future assertion you might make that posting in all caps is anything other than demonstrating a total lack of respect for everyone else. Keep up the good work.

Anyone who can't run a hundred that lives within a 7 hour drive of St. Louis is making a serious mistake if they don't visit Mark for some lessons. He is amazing.

For those who aren't familiar with my pilgrimages to the Bullpen over the past couple of years; here are some links (I think there are some photos on the second page of the third link).

You're very welcome. I am lucky enough to be close friends with a few national and world champions and THEY have spoken in gloowing terms about Mark both as an istructor and as a person.

Some people collect cues...I collect memories of having played with, being taught by and hopefully becoming friends with some of the great players/teachers.

I very much hope to add Mark to the list some time soon.

Regards,
Jim

I saw Mark last night & told him of this thread. He was gracious, as usual.

He let me know that a national & world champion had been to see him twice over the past 3 weeks for a several day session as a tune up for the DCC. It will be interesting to see what type of a mark this person makes down in Louisville.

Somehow, I don't think that the wars in which our soldiers fought and died were meant to preserve our rights to be a pain in the neck to large numbers of people who have done us no harm.

Reminds me of my pool mentor and friend, Lester Dulawan. :)

I've been to his room. He's a good guy. The game would benefit if there were more people like him around.
