I really didn't win the lottery. Sorry, but no free cues!
The reason I'm posting this is to see what people would really buy if they had the opportunity to buy one cue. This is a value excerise and there is a lot you can buy for $4K so please take a minute to think about what maker's cue you would buy and why would you choose that maker over all the others. Keep in mind this is a hypothetical situation so the normal rules don't apply. What I mean by that is any cue you could want IS available for sale at current secondary market value. For example, you could by a plain cue from one of the current "in demand" makers or you could buy a loaded cue from a very good maker.
Here's the criteria:
You can only buy one cue.
You can never sell it.
The value of the cue you are buying is directly related to todays market. So no, you can't buy a Gus for what they sold for when he was alive.
You have to play with it for at least the next year so yes, playability is a factor as well as how the cue looks.
If you don't spend the whole $4K, you don't get the difference in cash.
So post it up. What would you buy if you had the chance?
