i like your work Grady, awalys have. I have done a little bit of commentary and its hard to do. and I talk good too. I cant write of spell but I can talk so I figured to be a natural at commentary. I was the worst,,,,,,i still might be the worst but i am a little better. I hope you find lots more commentary gig's Grady
I hope you are called on to do future commentary, Grady. I know how much joy it brings in your life. I still get a chuckle every time I listen to the Accu-Stats' X-rated video of Keith playing Bushwhacker. It's a hoot and quite funny. :grin:
With that said, I do enjoy Jim's commentary. I think his knowledge of the game is an asset to pool. He's a gentleman, polite, and knows the business well. There have been times when I have not agreed with what he said about a shot or about a player's intention on a shot, but I would have to say the same about all commentators in pool.
I have to work with people I don't care for sometimes, but diversity is key to jobs being a success or a failure. One person may have talent in one area, and another person could have skills that can really complement the rest of the team players. The bottom line is to get the job done, and if everybody looks at it as a business and not let their personal feelings get in the way, the end result is a win-win.

I miss Grady on the Microphone with Billy or Danny Diliberto. Call me sentimental but I like to see good things happen to good people. Grady loves pool and it would be impossible to find someone more qualified and knowledgeable!

I am certain the producers and viewers will get much more than their money's worth in old stories and pool history, than could ever be provided by these young whipper snappers that really should be out drawing their rock more so then occupying a seat that belongs to the LEGEND!!!!!!!!!!!!

Jim is a terrible commentator, and that would be enough for me not wanting to work with him.
If you actually go back in the day and watch matches that are pre-Jim, and listen where they have discussions on shot selections, possible spins, how many cushions they could go by going this way or that way, you would understand that Jim really isn't suited for commentary. IMO
It's as if he lacks the insight that most veteran pool players have, so when it comes to analyzing the table and shot selection, he comes off like a Newbie/Groupie, instead of someone that knows what they are talking about.
This is not to say that Jim is a bad guy, because i don't know that and it is irrelevant in this case.
Just i could pick out RAILBIRDS i know from the local pool room, who know 100 times more then him, when it comes to pool.
No don't get me wrong.
I happen to LOVE accu-stats, and think that they deserve all the credit in the world for everything they have done for pool.
Let alone, how much i have personally learned and benefited in pool, from watching their product over the years. The pool world is forever indebted to accu-stats IMO.
But having said that, i have ALWAYS felt that Jim was wrong for the job.
Sorry to say, that Jim can take an exciting match, and make it dull.

I think Jim does a great job and gets many of the shot correct. Jim and Danny are my fav guys to listen to. Grady, I can't under stand you when you talk. Its all a mumble to me.
Grady, why do you think they didn't take you up on your offer? Maybe because you started making demands on who you wouldwork withand who you wouldn't? Maybe they thought it might be more trouble than it was worth. Of course I could be wrong and there is probably another good reason. Maybe you can tell us why you think they didn't accept your offer?

I'd like to hear Grady paired with Jeremy Jones working in the commentary booth at the Derby City Classic next year.
grady...with the UTMOST respect for your game because obviously...your a legend...however with that said lately it seems that everytime anything happens with you involved i lose more and more respect for you personally. especially the last two things i have noticed with you...when you went to arizona and then this. im starting to think that your letting your status as a legend get the best of you and going to your head. you whine and complain about every little thing if its not exactly your way, sorry to say but your turning into an older version of earl strickland, or for a better name a "pool diva". now i will also say i do like your commentary your knowledge is great. but just shut up and do your job when it comes to commentary if you have a problem with something jim says during commentary tell him what you think and if it comes to it just agree to disagree and go to the next shot
As a subscriber to accustats I would much prefer any combination of DD BI and Jim Wyche. I think they do an outstanding job. Great insight and at times great humor.
Jim Wyche in my opinion is the perfect compliment to DD and BI. Every sports broadcast needs a professional broadcaster to provide the balance.
As far as Grady"s plea to the fans.....I think Accustats has the right to hire whomever they want.....petitioning the fans to call Accustats is really pathetic.

I heard that one year you were stood outsidethe US Open with a sign asking for people to tell Accu Stats to have you do commentary. What is the point of that? If they want you they will ask you. If after wearing thesign or asking peopleonhereto tallthem to let you andthey say "Ok, Grady you can do some commentary" how you gonna feel?? PersonallyI would feel like i was unwanted. Just my opinion.
Do you respect Danny DiLiberto's opinion? During one of the just-concluded U.S. Open matches, Danny said Jim Wych is the best commentator in pool.
Grady is a very capable commentator, but my favorites are Danny and Billy, and I also enjoy the threesome of J Schmidt, Bobby Hunter, and J Lee.
Wyche is probably a good commentator for non-pool players, but to those who know the game, he is INCREDIBLY, INCREDIBLY ANOYING.

I think Danny Di is not going to jeopardize his working relationship with accu stats.
Simple as that.
