I think I'm getting ripped off

I would never put myself in a situation to be ripped off by someone like this. I can assure you though, if I paid someone $4300 for something and then they didn't ship it, I would be on the next flight to wherever they were and most certainly would hunt them down.

I would be very impressed.

I've contacted the local Police and filed a crime report. While they were here they spoke with the local postmaster who called the Flushing branch and asked to have the package held because of suspicion of fraudalent activity. I will let everyone know how this plays out. Thanks for all your advice.

TommyT............The moron.

Moron?
I don't think so!
You may have made a mistake but you were smart enough to post your problem here and receive some great advice.

You just have to love this place.

Good luck with recovering your cue.

Steve

you should definately have waited untill the funds were cleared, I hope you get your cue back, best of luck.....

I sure hope that works and that they can prevent this theft and get your cue back to you. Even if you are able to get your cue back, please pursue his prosecution to the fullest extent that you can. This guy has been allowed to get away with this for too long and somebody needs to step up and make him suffer the consequences so that he does not continue to do this to other people.

Hope they get this SOB - if he is pulling a fast one! Good Luck. If you need any help let me know. I am in the NYC area PM and I can provide you my contact info. I will be at SBE on Saturday.

You can always use another respected member of the forum as a broker. I have offered to do this a couple times free of charge. This way, the broker recieves money in full after inspecting the property and insuring it's condition. Win-win for not much money. This should definitely have been done for an item valued at $4300.
I agree, I have suggested this before on bets made on here that you are not sure about the other guy or gal involved.
We have some really well respected people on here that I believe will take 10% or even nothing to handle the $$$. I have never placed a bet on here or bought anything from anyone on here, but when I do I will make sure that I ask someone like Blackjack who I don't even know other than a great reputation (I'm not just talking about the little gren dots) as well as many others on here to hold the $$$. This way everyone wins as both parties can lose and have concerns. I know also that this does not happen very often here but it is good to hear about it when it does so we can all be more careful with who we deal with.

Man, this sucks so badly. While I can't imagine what would lead a man to have so much trust in humanity, it's refreshing to see that some still do. I apparently left some poor kid without a Wii on Christmas day because I wouldn't ship to an unconfirmed address.. I couldn't imagine seeing something called an 'e-check' and not just be certain it's BS.

For all the reasons TommyT should feel wronged, you can't say he doesn't have character. While it's no small consolation, he definitely needs some rep from all of us.. green dots always make folks smile.

I'm declaring REP ORGY on this thread!

I Might Have 'Flipped' For It All Against Fatboy's Satchel Of Cashola

I have potential items for sale:
Rocky Tillis cue signed by Steve Mizerak.
Another half a dozen cues.
Accu-Stat tapes and other Instructional tapes
Complete run of On The Snap Magazine in mint condition.
Jay Flowers personal case
Assorted other cases, tip tappers, shapers, jump cues, assorted pool crap, etc.

The problem is that I don't trust ANY of you (or anyone else) and I'm just going to take it all with me when I die. (and, I intend to be cremated)

Very glad to hear you got it stopped in time. Maybe they'll even set up a sting, doubt it though.

WOW! I am not sure if you are being sarcastic but if you are not that was a little harsh. I mean "I don't trust any of you"? I would not expect you to trust me but there are some great, honest people on here JohnnyT for example.

Hopefully I am not out of line by speaking for Smorg, but since you are fairly new I thought I would point out to you that he has been known for his sense of humor on this board as well as others for probably close to ten years now. He has the most rep points of any member because of this. I can assure you he was just being humorous, as he is in 99% of his posts.

REALLY...............one can never be sure about where SmorgassBored is headed with his posts. But the bottom line is who wants that crap he's got?

Other than that Jay Flowers cue case. I mean really, who wants that other crap?

Please do let me know about the Jay Flowers cue case, though as I might be interested if the price is right.

Your Pal,

JoeyA

HA !
JohnnyT may be the worst of the lot. He has already admitted to being a tush hog, a pool hustler, frequenting dives and other dens of antiquity and he's even disguised himself by wearing a DRESS.

What kind of name is 'T' ?

Nope, he's off the books, too. I'm taking it all with me when I go and the way that I've been feeling lately, that could be very soon.

It sure sounds fishy to me. Never let anyone rush you with an excuse like that. And then having it delivered to a PO box. How long til Paypal says for the check to clear? I'd start doing some more investigating. FBI will find him if the funds don't clear. Scams across State lines, gets them involved. Best of luck to you.

Right on here! That's Federal! He's stepping in the deep do do! Go get 'em!

Bad advice in my opinion.

If you're going to do something, don't say you're going to do it. Don't even say you would do it. Don't suggest it in an email. Don't have someone else do a dirty deed for you. Do the deed yourself? You're the only one who might keep a secret.

Most people will squeal like a stuck pig if they are even threatened with incarceration.

This quasi-legal advice is worth exactly what you paid for it.

JoeyA

Looks like Joey and I went through the same school of hard knocks. If I have a problem with someone, I go see them myself. Yes, even at my advanced age. :)

I have been ripped off twice on ebay and I tracked the guys down both times and confronted them in person and they made it right. Once law enforcement was involved and once was in a mall in Atlanta.

The amounts were $1200 and $400 and no violence was involved (implied maybe). :D For $4300 violence might come into play.

MM...not a badass but don't rip me off:eek:

I've only been ripped off once on here and it was by Actionpussy. One day our paths will cross and I promise to make it an unforgettable day for him!

I have owned four poolrooms and dealt with his type before. I call it the "shock treatment". You figure out the rest.

CONTACT the Flushing police too. They should go get this guy. It's not hard for them to find out who he is and where he lives. It's high time he got some serious down time!

If it were me, I would be on the next plane to New York. I'll help with your plane fare, I'm that pissed.
