If Mike Sigel Wins!

10x times world champion?please post these titles.i have been around pool for decades and i count only 7 real world titles.

True true. I only said 10 because that's what's advertised. I think he counted the US Open (before it was called the US Open) as world titles. Even so, 7 isn't that bad. Good point though.

I assure you he didnt go undefeated against these other players you are talking about.

The idiocy displayed on this thread is making me question why I even bother with this site any more. The disrespect paid to Mike Sigel is dispicable.

I hope you're not referring to me. I just brought up what I thought would be discussed after a Mike Sigel win I also stated that Mike played better and deserved to win. If you think I said anything other than that please reread my posts. I think Sigel is one of pools alltime greats but I've also spent a lot of time here at azb to know that there are a lot of cynics.
I thought it was a great match and look forward to more of the same.

John is my favorite modern day player. Sigel is my favorite player from the past. I felt he played very well and brought out a little Sigel of old. I guess 54 years old isn't a death sentence. I would agree that a longer match would tell us a little more. I would pay alot of money to see a Schmidt vs Sigel all around. Straight Pool, OP & 10 Ball. You think Sigel could get staked for 20k. I think someone might put it up. Any comments on this match up? Anyway I enjoyed watching the match live in Studio City and look forward to watching John play next time. Cheers All!

Pete Fusco Tournament is not considered a major under the Onepocket.org website so I don't know how is can be a world championship, it as doesn't have "World Championship" in the title.
World One pocket Champion, this is not true the 1979 U.S. Open One Pocket Championship is not consider a world championship and the first place prize being only $1000.
As for the 9 world "World Titles" it's tricky, for an instance would you class the Resorts International 9-Ball Championship that mike won in 1986 as a "World Championship" with the first place prize as $40,000! the largest in pool history at the time.

Same Raph from the Accu Stats live chats? Good to see you here if so.

I don’t know but I do remember the first time I used a forum I did the same thing.

And the whole thing just looked like a mess of posts to me, I didn’t understand that replying to one brought it to the top of some page.

I like the occasional blast from the past but it has caused me some confusion before

How do people even manage to find these old threads?
I think it's one of the best features of this site tbh. The amount of topics, stats, etc. that's been discussed and posted here is incredible. (The amount of bullshit is equally incredible.)

If you like Mike Sigel and want to read about him and other's thoughts, first-hand accounts, etc., just type "Mike Sigel site:forums.azbilliards.com" into google and you can spend hours reading about him. You don't need to necessarily reply to the threads, admittedly, but the "back pages" of AZB are great.
