First off

Mike Sigel hands down. Harold Worst if we go back just to see how good he was.

If I had a chance to go on the road with any of them when they were in their prime, it wouldn't be Sigel. I met him in 1985 at Starchers in Ohio, and got into an argument with him and about 3 other guys about my right to play in the tourney against them. I agree his play at that time was about the best in the world, but I would never think about doing anything with him, no matter what the circumstances.

My first choices going back in time, would be Keith, Ronnie Allen, Buddy, and after reading Jay's book, I think he would have been a great road partner. {Just because of his total love for pool} Keith and Ronnie were not too good with the money management area's, but man, if you seen them in action, they were always talking and a blast to listen to. Plus, they were the best at their games.

Nowadays, if I had to pick a couple of players out of the top ranks, I'd have to pick Bartram for his playing ability and the fact that I think he could be trusted as a partner. Incardona, because he can still stir up action, and knows how to rate games. Of course, Efren would be the top, if you're looking to move your game up a notch. I'm not sure how anyone could be around him, if they paid attention, and not learn a few things.

pros

If you had a chance to go on the road, get lessons, be a caddy or hang out with for 6 months any living Male pro who would it be? I will list my choices in priority to me.

1 through 15 I would have to choose-

1- Mike Sigel
2- Earl Strickland
3- Danny Diliberto
4- Billy Incardona
5- Keith Mccready
6- Kim Davenport
7- Johnny Archer
8- Nick Varner
9- Efren (I hope I could understand him!).
10- Buddy Hall
11- Dennis Hatch
12- SVB
13- Jimmy Reid (God Bless Him!)
14- Wade Crane (Billy Johnson)
15- Jim Rempe
13- Danny Harriman

This is all meant to be fun and these are some of my favorite players. I know there is alot of players that I forgot to mention, But these players that I have mentioned have a special place in my BIG heart and my true "Love Of The Game"

Of any male players out there at the professional level, I would have to go with someone I have looked up to my whole pool-playing career. He always stays so calm, makes great choices, and has been the only player I have admired for as long as I can remember. His name is Johnny Archer (the scorpion). If only I had the ability to stay as cool, calm, and collective as him...I'd be a dangerous player also! Johnny gets MY vote 100%!!!!

I would have to go with Nick Varner. I have met him a couple times & he his personality was great. Always been a big fan of his. He also plays a lot of different games well. Long live the Kentucky Colonel.

I think it would be difficult to choose, but I would have to pick someone who fit my personality... therefore:

1 - Jim Rempe
2 - Nick Varner
3 - Johnny Archer
4 - John Schmidt

I think Earthquake would be a lot of fun, just not sure about spending tons of time with him on the road. It would be a blast in the beginning though!!!!!!

My "back in time" players would be pretty easy...

1. Luther Lassiter
2. Irving Crane
3. Willie Mosconi

JoeyA (.......remembering.................Stop the bleeding, protect the wound, treat for shock)

All you guys amaze me, not one of you have listed any of the gorgeous women playing this game today. What is this world coming too.

The man I would like too mention is a teammate of mine Bob Vanover, one class act.

Just from what I have digested from the pool world so far I would have to go with:

Efren Reyes (Such a great player and still manages to be very humble.)
Mika Immonen (Just something I like about his playing style...apparently I am the only one.)
Keith McCready (Seems to have a good time no matter what, even if that stance is creepy looking.)
Danny Bassavich (Simple similarities)

From your list, I'd say Kim.

As far as being taken under their wing: Kim, Buddy, Nick, Allen Hopkins, or Efren.

I know most, if not all, of the above personally - 6 months is a long time...

(If Steve Mizerak was alive, he would definitely make the list).

There is a wealth of road experience and stories on the list.

There is a wealth of old school pool knowledge on the list.

There is a wealth of true enthusiasm for the game and good sportsmanship on the list (they ALL love pool more than you do....whoever the heck you are).

For lessons and mentoring, without a doubt, Nick Varner. he is one of the greatest all around players of all time and has more heart than anyone I have ever met.

To go on the road with, Shane Van Boening, he is a fearless gambler amd would be a lot of fun to travel with.

Non pool related, Tiger Woods. His drive and mental toughness would make him someone to definitely learn from.

Since I like 14.1, here are some of the people I would like to learn from:

Jim Rempe
Allen Hopkins
Dallas West
Nick Varner
Jose Garcia
Ray Martin
Mike Sigel

Some of the newer guys:

John Schmidt
Thomas Engert
Thorsten Hohmann
Oliver Ortmann
Niels Feijen
Mika Immonen
Danny Harriman
