Just read the front page about the World Summit of Pool and how Payulayan turns his head sideways for a no look shot on the 9 ball against Busti. MISSES, then Busti Misses the 9 ball and hands it back to Alex for the win. What Total BS is this?? I don't know about you guys but that's pretty bush league imo. I would expect more of these guys than a comedy routine. Maybe they should stick to hustling fish and playing poker and let the "serious" players battle it out for the titles. St. "ex fan of them both"

Hell, Alex has been doing stuff like that for years. The only thing that shocked me about it is that he actually missed! I don't know well you know Alex but he always seems to bring fun to the matches that he is in. Most of the time his little antics don't make front page pool news. As far as Busty was concerned, he more than likely felt bad about egging him into doing something stupid and just missed as a concession.
So it was professionals acting unprofessional. It happens all the time. I doubt it will be the reason why either of their faces won't be on a Wheaties box anytime soon. I tell you what though, if it makes it to TV that will actually be one of the coolest things that they have ever aired!

I'd rather watch pool players in a match where they display their great skills and at the same time have fun and make the match more entertaining and beyond mediocre rather than watch pool players play sucky pool and act like they attended a funeral thoughout the match.

I would have to say that folks need to relax.. We all know that both players are among the best at what they do! So Alex was having a little bit of fun and I would guess that the majority of the crowd thoroughly enjoyed watching the 2 of them play, I know that I would.
A little show boating never hurt anyone, especially amongst friends. I love to watch Alex play because he is a phenom and his attitude is very entertaining. Life is too short to take everything too seriously. I'd say if that pisses you off, you have bigger fish to fry!

Doesn't bother me one bit. Those who get to that position get to decide what they do in said position. Guaranteed, had there been some negative consequesnce- had he lost the match as a result- he wouldn't do it again!
Pros do it often, cyclists have thrown their hands up at the finish of a race, onlt to be pipped at the line by a hair, hell, there once was a pro rider who did same and crashed big time. Never read about him doing it again!
That said, until there is a widely accepted governing body for pro-pool, the birds will fly free.

I think that the game deserves more respect than that. I'm harking back to the old days of tuxedos or at least suits/ties w/a formal referree in white gloves. I think that was respectful of the game and gave credit to the great skill that the great players had achieved.
But lack of respect is sort of the way the world has moved in the last 3 or 4 decades. Seems there is not much, if any, respect for anything these days and truth be told I'm about as disrespectful of many things, like government and religion, as one can get, so I don't have any room to complain. But, I still would like to see the activity of manipulating pool balls be given the respect it deserves based on the difficulty of doing it with great skill and these guys acted like brats in front of the world.

We have to remember, this is not brain surgery. We are not talking life and death here. Pool is a game and it should be enjoyed.
rather than giving attention to guys just enjoying the game, I believe people should be more focused on guys having a petty quarrel caused my malicious mischiefs. Purposely distracting the other player inorder to gain an upperhand in a manner where the other player would obviously determine that it was done in "Bad Faith". among professional, they would simply know the difference, except maybe for Earl. we didn't see any bloodshed and disgust or ill-feeling between those two players. If there was, I would had agreed that those actions were indeed provocative.
